Wait a sec... LSF don''t got no ships!!

If you are stuck in a mission and do not know how to continue, this is the place to ask for help. Missing that elusive Level 10 Shield? Don''t know where to find the lost Ohtori ship? This is the only place where spoilers are allowed!

Wait a sec... LSF don''t got no ships!!

So, I sat down and investigated what has to be the most poorly-funded intelligence service in the universe, the Liberty Security Force:

- LSF employees are only spotted at the bar in Manhattan.
- LSF ships never patrol anywhere in the Sirius Sector.
- The only identifiable members are Juni and King, who disappear after the story is over.
- The vast majority of the missions they offer have no backup.
- On the two missions I've accepted where they promise that a wing will meet me for backup.. THE WING NEVER COMES! (Probably because, as mentioned in the title, the LSF don't got no ships).

I'd say this makes the LSF even weaker than the Rogues or Xenos. Heck, I'd say the LSF is really just a "paper faction".

Nice idea, I've noticed that too...

I consider them to be the CIA of Liberty... Therefore I guess they are just doing a great job at not being noticed by normal guys (like Freelancers)

Yes, just gotta love the Liberty Security FORCE not having any thing to enFORCE the Security that Liberty needs...

When they say "until backup arrives, you'll be on your own", I guess they really meant "Until we get a budget resolution for the next fiscal year passed allowing us to buy ships, and maybe guns, you'll be on your own".

Maybe I didn't wait long enough

I believe you're right about LSF not having any other regular members or any regular squadrons that randomly appear. Beyond Zane and King, I've only seen a few other LSF ships during scripted missions. For example, you get help during Mission 01 from LSF Epsilons 1-3 (assisting the attacked Prison Ship near Maine) and LSF Deltas 1-2/Alphas 1-3 (attacking the Liberty Rogue base).

No idea, Juni just has a special ship. Remarkably similar to the Anubis, but has Liberty Navy coloring.

LSF doesn't need ships....It has operatives in ALL the major house factions...

LSF seems to be kinda like a "Black Ops" type of thing..Maybe they have cloaked ships that don't need to uncloak to fire, or they "aquire" ships only on an "As needed basis" They use rentals...lol

Think about it...in X-Files...Didn't Fox and Mulder have a different car every place they went? They rented them, or were provided by the locals....Maybe the LSF hitches rides on the Armoured transports...There are quite a few of them around....

swb and argonus are right. You don't see LSF ships because you're not supposed to. They're an intelligence agency whose specialty is espionage. Like the CIA or NSA. Even in the description in the faction screen it says that people who do missions for them are supposed to keep it a secret. If you think the LSF is poorly funded, it means they're doing their job.

It's also possible that the LSF works mainly on the planets/bases replacing the role of modern police, and not having very much business in space.

Juni flies Defender, which is Navy heavy. This means LSF didn't have a ship for her, so they borrowed it from Navy

I think we should expand this to an investigation of Liberty forces of all types. Anyone else notice that they have the weakest ships in the game? The light fighter has no armor and mounts the weakest weapons. Apparently the Defender's ability to mount a torpedo is what makes it a heavy fighter, it's worse than many light fighters in every other category - even cargo capacity. The Rhino is also the smallest freighter in the galaxy. How does such a poorly armed force manage to control the central focal point of the galaxy?
