Help!Race with Hovis

If you are stuck in a mission and do not know how to continue, this is the place to ask for help. Missing that elusive Level 10 Shield? Don''t know where to find the lost Ohtori ship? This is the only place where spoilers are allowed!

Help!Race with Hovis

I know this is kind of a loser question but I can't beat him. The cruise engines just cut off and restart and cut off again. Do you guys experience and major turbulence during the race? It may be a bug but I don't know. If you guys can post some replys I would be very thankful.

make sure you start the cruise engines with shift + smthing (i think its w ,
cant remember right now) and not with the F2 . that will work

OK, Immediately start your cruise engines with Shift-W. Stick right on Hovis's butt, and take the insides of the turns. You can see where the next gate is so set up your turns to head straight at that gate, Hovis will run off the course near the end and get his weps platforms to start shooting at you, just drop a few CMs and take the last few gates. Easy.

I beat this mission first go, in a Crusader, without cheating or reading the spoilers. Some people have said they did it in a freighter and I don't see why you couldn't. There really isn't anything special about this mission. This is one of, if not the easiest mission in the game since there isn't 20 enemy fighters trying to kill you. All you do is just sit back and steer the course.

If you don't want to actually race him, (and get a bit of modding expierience too) you should try modding the game to let you pass. This is considered cheating, to some degree. Go here:
