Bretonia(Cambridge)-->Edge World(Omicron Theta)

Somebody...please let me know how i get from cambridge to omicron theta...where is this edge world system. I've been looking around and i'm lost.

I have a baracuda with Class 6 and Class 5 weapons..and pretty much hated by all the bad guys. Trying to do a trade run from Omicron theta to California minor. Commodity u buy is alien life organisms for 400 and sell for 2000.

I suggest you forget going to the Border World systems in that junk heap. You'll get eaten alive while still dazed from the jump if the local pirates don't like you. They fly Sabres, Titans, Centurions, and other powerful ships, by the way.

In any case, some people are suicidal, so here is how to get to Omicron Theta (JH = jumphole, JG = jumpgate). Local pirate factions and some hazards are in brackets.

From Bretonia [through Tau systems:
First go to Tau-31, then
JG/JH to Tau-23 (Outasts) (low radiation damage) (minefield)
JH to Tau-37 (Outcasts)
JH to Omicron Alpha (Outcast homeworld) (moderate radiation damage)
JH to Omicron Theta (Corsairs/Outcasts).

From Bretonia (through Omega systems):
First go to Omega-7 (or Stuttgart for a JG), then
JH to Omega-11 (Red Hessians) (moderate radiation damage)
JH to Omega-41 (Corsairs/Red Hessians) (severe radiation damage) (minefield)
JH to Omicron Theta (Corsairs/Outcasts).

I think that's it. I don't have a map so I might be wrong about the Omega path.

Does that mean that the base (Freeport 9(?) I think) at Omicron Theta is populated by the criminals? Or just that there's Corsairs/Outcasts in the area?

I have a Falcon at the moment (all C7/8 weaps), and have been doing trade runs to build up my cash so I could afford an Eagle.

Should I try and build up my Corsair/Outcast faction before I go? I know killing GMG ships builds Corsair faction, but can I bribe people for good (at least neutral) faction with the Corsair/Outcasts without affecting my faction with other people (ie, the police?)

Kill Xenos to get your Outcast rep higher. Xenos have no allies so you won't piss anyone off. They also fly crappy ships.

I like the Sabre over the Titan an anything you can get on Crete you can get on Malta.

Man! That's tough! I get as far as the Omnicron Theta JH and either die there or in the firefight than ensues on the other side! Still trying though! I gotta get out of this Anubis.

Just a quick word of advice to anyone killing Xeno's to improve your overall Rep. If you kill too many, your rep with the Zoner's may take a hit.

I was neutral with the Zoner's and went out and killed like 200 Xeno's to improve my overall rep. Next thing I know, I fly past a Zoner base and they're shooting at me!

I'm not saying don't kill Xeno's, just watch your rep with the Zoner's while doing so.

first of all.... WHAT CAN THE ZONERS DO??? they suck because like the xenos they have no allies... the only reason for your rep to go down is because the zoners have no allies and no enemies so basically when they catch wind of you killin a crap-load of ships, they dont like it... if you want a much easier method, then i say kill a crap load of xenos first then once you have a nice rep with bounty hunters... kill them... when you kill bounty hunters you rep with corsairs will go up much faster then with killing xenos, in fact all criminals like it when you kill bounty hunters and the golden part of it is that when you kill bounty hunters no one gives a crap cuz it says bounty hunters like house police but guess what THEY DONT CARE ONE WAY OR ANOTHER so kill a bunch of bounty hunters to get a better rep with pirates in general (yes including xenos your rep will sky rocket with them when you kill bounty hunters) once you are neutral to xenos go and kill a bunch of them without them firing at you cuz you will be neutral (heh no fight at all if you can be fast enough) when you kill a crap load of xenos your rep wont go down with anyone but will in fact improve with most including the bounty hunters so once you are neutral again to bounty hunters rinse lather and repeat cuz you rep with just about everyone is benefitted with this method

make money quick .

Get on the good side of the Corsairs ( hessian and bounty hunters can t hurt neither but not necessary ) which u will have to do to get your hands on a Titan .

New London (new london) - buy Light Arms at 350 -> cambridge system ->omega 5 -> Leon Base (Omega 41)sell for +- 1250 (almost 1000 profit ) + buy alien artifacts at 188 -> omega 5 -> cambridge system -> New London(new london) sell for 1160 ( again almost 1000 profit )

U can make better profit if u replace new london with new berlin but u need to take greater risks .Example I did 2 trips to new london en then one to new berlin and got me an big ass freighter . Flew back to Leon base and did one round trip to new london again

cargo 60 = 60000+60000+60000+60000+60000 bought other freighter cargo 250 = +250000+250000+25000 costs = about 100000 for radiation damages and ofcourse the nice dogfights total = 950000

note : advanced thruster is helpfull f u want to outrun the rhineland and bretonia police forces

If you really want to buy alien organisms to sell in cali minor, you can buy them at omicron alpha (way up northeast part of map, access from sigma systems). You need to be semi-friendly with corsairs to dock at base.

That light arms run is better if you start from Detroit Munitions. It takes a lot longer, but more cash.

Reaper: $200,000,000.
Rockets: $100,000
The look on that pilot's face when you launch a full pod of screamers up his tailpipe: priceless

Pissing off Bounty Hunters isn't that much of a good advice, unless you like to get attacked every minute or so. Bounty Hunters are everywhere: in every system, in every corner of a system, around every damn base. Other factions, however, are mostly regional so they don't get annoying that fast.

Yes, being constantly pestered by Bounty Hunters may get old, but you can easily just run to a Trade Lane or dock, or jump. Thing is, as far as I remember, they don't own any bases... so you can usually count on a convenient escape being nearby. They aren't strong anyway (usually). Thanks for the tip, will try it out XD -- I certainly wasn't looking forward to the dock-redock to buy reputation...

I killed a lot of corsairs, then took a lot of bounty hunter missions to kill corsairs. Killed the corsairs at the target site, then killed all the bounty hunters that had been helping me. If my faction with Bounty hunters got lower than mid way, I just went and killed more corsairs. When my faction was max with the guys listed as going down when bribing the corsairs (Red Hessians, hmm some police and military), I then did the bribe and went neutral to everyone. It did seem like some other factions changed as well as the ones listed on the bribe screen, (maybe the allies of the Red Hessians etc), but none of those went red for me. Even if some did go red, as long as they hated corsairs (which they should do if they lowered faction when you bribed them), you could just go kill corsairs to fix it as long as you stopped before corsairs go red.

Its dull as hell though, so I bought that character a humpback and made him a trade mule. The only time he ever gets attacked is when someone takes a fancy to his cargo, and I can generally dock with a tradelane or JH without clicking 'no I won't drop my cargo', before they attack.
