"Unknown System" and Aquamarine tube near sun

If you are stuck in a mission and do not know how to continue, this is the place to ask for help. Missing that elusive Level 10 Shield? Don''t know where to find the lost Ohtori ship? This is the only place where spoilers are allowed!

"Unknown System" and Aquamarine tube near sun

I'm currently travelling down the aquamarine tube-ish thing near the already mentioned sun in one of the unknown systems. Looking back, I'm 100k from the sun. Has anyone travelled this already, and if so how far do I have to go?

I went 1071K (distance to sun object behind me) without finding anything.

its just background... wish it had some meaning, but its just background graphic.

anyway, did anyone try to move to another system without a jumpgate? 1000k, that should be start...

perhaps with some ini-editing, setting cruise speed to like 5000 and then just go make a cup.....carload of coffee.

It is impossible to travel between systems without jumping via a gate or a hole

the gate makes it so it loads.

That's correct... when you go through the jump gate, sometimes you'll see a loading indication on the screen which means that it has to load into memory, think about it this way...why bother to travel that way when you can use the jumpgate/jumphole and get there in a minute or so...

Imagine traveling through space from our solar system to the nearest one to us...even at the speed of light it would take years to get to...so if you want to leave your game running for months or years it might be possible heh heh

Yeah but it would probably just 'load' the next universe as soon as it thought you weren't looking

I do have to admit, some of these systems are quite breathtakingly beautiful. I quite loved the one with the Neutron Star in it (Which, by the way, also seemed to be the ONLY planet/planetoid that was rotating.. or mabye i just didnt notice the other ones)

normally u shouldnt even see a neutran star rotating...
(what was it, 60 rotations per second?)

anyway, thats not the subject here.

wow I tought I was the only one who was dumb enough to tought of doing that, cool to see I'm not the only one!

I decided to load the autosave game after I was about 3000K from the big white star in the top right of the sector map.

let the game run by itself while doing other stuff. At first I imagined a whole new sector at the end, kinda parallel universe!

;-)
