Basically, almost each one of the 'important' NPC-Wingmen that accompany you during the game have a "god mode"-flag flipped by the engine. (Correct me if I'm wrong, but I'm pretty sure about this)

That led me to actually noticing that you can win most missions by simply dodging all attacks and waiting for your chaps to do the job... makes you feel kinda useless, though.

Whatever, it's still better than to see you AI comrades burn up because of some badly written combat handling routine. I just HATE AI-driven charcters that can't take care of themselves - ever since I encountered those suicidal tiberium harvesters in C&C 1. =D

I dunno, I had one mission, about mid way, where Juni actually bit it and the mission failed. But for the most part, yeah, it looks like she tweaked one ini or another.

I have actually experimented a bit with this. On some missions, certain mission critical craft can be destroyed. Mostly convoy stuff. But most certainly, the story/plot line dependant ppl cannot be killed. I have hung around for quite a while while new ships pop in, just to watch their hulls and shields, they should have died many times over. Also, certain deaths seem to be scripted, loss of certain wingmen during arch mission, even took time to try to protect a wingman that saw died last time, he still goes down in flames.

O-o, come to think of it, you guys are right... never can i remember one part where juni actually died...or king for that matter... or any of the main characters that talk to you...

On certain missions, she can die. Such as the one where you guard transports in the Ice Cloud. She can die in there. I think that's about it.

Yeah, because the... uhh... icicles in that cloud cause a... uhh... meson-proton inversion in her... uhh... otherwise highly reliable gravatron power core and that... uhh... induces a para-spatial resonance in her metaphasic shield phalanx... uhh... switching off the shield's... uhh... verteonic impenetrability, yeah that's it! Easy one, huh?

... oh right, but I would expect it to be a meson-proton inversion in a hydrocarbon cloud, and a meson-POSITRON inversion in an ice cloud, wouldn't you?

I find it somewhat strange that the AI heroes start off with lots of nanobots and shield batteries, and then on top of that they're invincible sometimes

Her Flux Capacitor had an inverse photon reaction which sent a feedback loop to her graviton drive, and set up a reverse resonance field in the oscillation over thruster.

Her mistake was purchasing a ship made by Yo-Yo dyne industries.


Anyway...The is a chance that the missions where you go thru minefields and such, that any npc will bite it....I had one of the group I was with...Think it might have been Sinclair or Doc Q....I forget...bite it on a mine.....but never Juni....
