If you are stuck in a mission and do not know how to continue, this is the place to ask for help. Missing that elusive Level 10 Shield? Don''t know where to find the lost Ohtori ship? This is the only place where spoilers are allowed!

Help me escape

I'm on the mission that you are wanted and need to escape. I have a defender. I can't beat it and am thinking of going back to an old save. If I do I want to get a lot of money and the best stuff I can to beat this level. What's the best ship I can get uo to this level? WHo should I become friends eith to get the ship? What weapons should I get? Since the navy and stuff hates me during this mission anyways would it be ok for me to become friends with bad guys before thi level? Should I get a rhino make money and then get whatever ship you recommend? If the base is secret to get the ship tell me where it is. Like what coordinates. Please help

im guessing that its the mission where liberty suddenly hates you and you need to run helter skelter to save your arse?

best trick in escaping missions is to try not to use you shield batteries/nanobots and just manuver around using your after burners once in awhile, that should throw off pursuers for quite some time

the reason i ask you not to use your batteries and bots to much is that becoz you never know when is the next time you get to restock, i remember completing one mission with NO batts and bots and had to retry that mission about 10 times

When you get non-mission time you should use this to make money, you next mission starts when you hit a certain monetary goal, but you can hold off starting these missions for a bit and concentrate on making some cash.

As to escaping, agree on learning the intermittant afterburner thrust, also read some good threads on engine cut maneuvering and sliding. This is a tough fight for your lvl. Also you will be able to use salvaged weapons from destroyed ships a while before you can purchase them from merchants. Find a weapon type you like (I prefere a fire rate around 4 with a good punch). Explore for lost ship wrecks.

Lots to do, so little time. Good Luck

Just stay alive. You don't need to kill anybody in that first fight. The trade lane will be cleared even if all you do is dodge enemy fire. Probably the biggest reason people get killed in this game is trying to line someone else up when you've got three of his buddies on your tail.

Ok, I have some "Dragoon type I( class 4 )" gun. It won't let me mount it. Do I need to have an outcast ship ( which is the faction that makes it I think) to mount it? Can you give me a link to those moves you were talking about? Is my ship good to use for this mission? Should I get money first then re-try this?

You have to be docked AND have an empty hardpoint available to mount a new weapon. So dock, 'unmount,' a mounted weapon, then mount whatever new gun you want.

Oh, and the Defender is about as good as it gets at that point in the game...

First, do the bare minimum you have to do to progress the story. Keep hitting "n" to see if you're forgetting a specific task. Here's ideas from memory

(Don't use goto, stick with free flight)
1) Immediately go to the first waypoint. (which will be blocked).
2) Kill time staying alive (I blew up some Navy ships, nothing better to do). To stay hard to hit, either use afterburner some, or for really extreme, try using cruise engines and maneuvering wildly. It's fun.
3) let Walker come in and blow up the battleship.
4) "hotlane" with the trade gate to West Point. to do this, keep in free flight, use your cruise engines, and fly toward the gate. Select the gate by clicking on it or whatever. Keep in cruise mode, and fly right towards the green-lit gate. When you get nearly on top of it (the gate circle reaches edge of screen), hit the dock key (f3), and you will dock very quickly, and take less damage.
5) Repeat at west point.

I died the first time I tried the mission. The second time, I ran away with cruise engines, and lost because I was a coward.

Someone said the dagger is better. Is it worth it to get the dagger? The rogues hate me so I'll have to get good with them to buy it.
