[SP Help needed after beating the Nomads

Greetings,
I finished the mission (could it be mission 13? Dont remember for sure) where you reach the huge Nomad city and use the artifact against them...the city is sucked away along with the Nomad ships, etc. etc. Everyone returns home, humanity is safe and we are all happy.
But, after the cinematic, I am on Manhattan and the objective is: "Find a job". I am level 18 and are worth about 88k creds, and need about 91k to level up. To make it quick, I get a pair of easy missions at the bar on the planet and complete them, but I dont level up! When I reach the required worth in credits, nothing happens. The objective log remains empty.
Sometimes (I reloaded and retried) the required cash amount increases as I reach it, some other times I just surpass it and nothing happens. I also tried to reach the required amount with commodities commerce, but it doesnt work.
What could it be? Am I so dumb I missed something important in "Find a job"?!

The amount indicated is how much you need to make (from your current worth) to level up, unlike during the SP campaign where it showed the target net worth directly.

For example, if you're worth $88K now and it says you need $90K to level up, it means once your worth reaches 88 + 90 = 178K, you'll level up.

Hope this clarifies things.

DUH...that could explain...thanks.
By the way, I have to assume the SP campaign is in fact finished after the assault to the Nomads, and from now on I am on a sort of "free playing" without any official story behind? It would be a pity, so far the SP story looked both short and easy...
