completed SP but stuck at lvl18!

I completed the single player campaign and emerged in the New York System. My level is 18 and to raise to level 19 I need 64,000 credits, however I am already worth 104,000 so it won't raise me!
I tried jettisoning cargo to lower my worth to below 64K and then tractoring it back in but this doesn't work.
What do I do or is this a glitch?

No, it's a FAQ.

It's just there to make you confused.
The next level requirement display changes after the single player so that it says how much more you need instead of simply how much net worth you've got to have.

Why the change? I don't know, but my best bet is so that we can have hundrends of these posts on these forums and increase our message count by replying.

Next time you'll be asking what to do when your next level req. says you have to do a Mission, even though you've already finished the game. That one is a bug and you just ignore it and keep making money.

Phew, thanks for the warning. I had just reached that point and was about to go and do some missions and make even more enemies.
