"lawful" way to make friends with Hackers/Outcasts

If you are stuck in a mission and do not know how to continue, this is the place to ask for help. Missing that elusive Level 10 Shield? Don''t know where to find the lost Ohtori ship? This is the only place where spoilers are allowed!

"lawful" way to make friends with Hackers/Outcasts

Okay, I'd like to make the trade run between Cambridge and Manhattan a lot, and stockpile a few billion dollars I am currently neutral with the Corsairs, and only somewhat hostile to liberty rogues (but they're worthless anyway).

But the Hacker and the Outcasts both dislike me. And they have a nasty habit of breaking by trade lanes, and knocking out my cruise engines, forcing me to run away the slow way (afterburner).

So what's a good way to make them neutral? I don't want to start attacking friendly commercial/police ships. I tried blowing up lots of Xenos but that didn't seem to help. (it might have helped with rogues, but not outcasts/hackers)

I'm not sure if I want to bribe my way to happiness (would that make the navy and police HOSTILE to me or just neutral?) And on general principle, I don't want to give people all that money when I could kill them instead.

Any ideas?

i wanted to make friends with hessians/outcasts to be able to get the sabre... i bribed the bartender a freeport...hmm.. 5 i think it was and then went to vogtlnad base.... the rheimland military didnt like me... but the were white/red in the reputations instead of red so i think its not very hard to become friends with em again.... just blow up some enemies of theirs( and THAT is no hard with the sabre equipped with lots of goodies!)

(lets out a diabolical laughter, goes back into freelancer and drools down the room)

Was that a flying zuccini?

Just disrupt a trade lane and kill everything that comes through then fly away laughing hysterically.

Okay not quite lawful... but definite rep fixing there

Plus you'll only wind up neutral with the lawful groups (or even keep their alliance and very slightly above hostile with the unlawful groups)

Killing bounty hunters works wonders.

If by "legal" you mean not doing anything that would upset any lawful factions, then killing Xenos would be the only way. Well, killing Corsairs would help with Outcast, but I figure you want to leave them neutral if you can. Anyway, if you want to kill Xenos, be sure you are going after the toughest ones you can handle. I don't know where all of them are, but they fly Hawks, I think, in Hudson system. The baby Xenos in Colorado aren't worth much on the faction scale.

Aren't cargo hauls rather dull though if there's no danger of being attacked? Why not just find a cheat somewhere to increase your cash amount and save yourself the travel time?
