I''m buggin out, they''re too strong right now...

If you are stuck in a mission and do not know how to continue, this is the place to ask for help. Missing that elusive Level 10 Shield? Don''t know where to find the lost Ohtori ship? This is the only place where spoilers are allowed!

Anyone here ever mercifully let off their AI duel-mates? Sometimes I do if they're the last one in a fight, I'll let him/her live and go in the other direction. Of course, if they attack me again after they've gone about 2K that means to me that they think I'm Kevorkian or something (please no replies about him haha). But, you know, I don't get much of a chance to do that anymore, as my shots take off about a third of whatever bar, shield or hull, that I'm on. On one hand, I'd like to let them live and tell the tale of the great warrior Trent who defeated all of their comrades but left him alive, but on the other hand, sometimes I get antsy about what guns they might drop.

This isn't really a question on the morals of letting those defeated enemies go, it's just a question on whether or not you do it.

I am usually focused on killing one target at time, to improve the odds in my favor as quick as possible. And I use afterburner a lot. So usually I can blow them up while they're trying to run.

And just earlier today, I finally remembered to use the cruise disruptors (which I hadn't used before) in time while I was messing around with a light fighter. So I just camped outside a Xeno base and killed everybody until I got very bored.

But they started it.

If you let him go, you don't get his loot. No way.

BLOW EVERYTHING UP

i shoot every hostile in sight, even at the bases although i cant seem to destroy it

If they shoot at me they're gonna get the proverbial beaten out of them four ways plus anything extra i feel they deserve. If they leave me alone i leave them alone, unless they are carrying any juicy cargo.

If I fight, I fight till the end. But I have not cruiser disruptor, so I can't stop enemies, if they want leave. But actually they wont :-) Strange.

couldnt you just get in there formation and follow them to a secret base or something? They will have to go to some base to repair.

If they're hostile, I think they'll try to kill you if you try to form on their wing. And if they have any sense of honor and devotion toward their faction, they would sooner die in battle than lead you to their base.

But you could target 'em and activate your cruise engines and follow 'em manually. I did that once, but he didn't lead me to a base. He led me to another patrol, a quite large one at that. TEN HEAVIES!

I usually just let them shoot me for target practice...
Ever since I got my level 10 shield I only fight those that can actually damage my shield... I figured that if I don't engage in combat, the faction ratings won't go down.
