CAN''T DOCK at SHINKAKU STATION

If you are stuck in a mission and do not know how to continue, this is the place to ask for help. Missing that elusive Level 10 Shield? Don''t know where to find the lost Ohtori ship? This is the only place where spoilers are allowed!

CAN''T DOCK at SHINKAKU STATION

Hi All! I just arrived at SHINKAKU STATION mission 7 and I can't dock QUINTAINE docked but it seems the rest of us TRENT,JUNI,TOBIAS,SINCLAIR can't dock is it because I am not welcomed at the station because I check my status with the other clans or industries and I am not in favor withg the SAMURA INDUSTRIES and KISHIRA TECNOLOGIES maybe the Japonies are not to happy with me lol.Does that mean I am screwed? Any help would be welcomed Thanks

got the same thing, I'm a pirate and hostile with samura (who owns the station). this is a huge bug, since the mission is completely unpassable now. you'd think for a game that supposedly adapts to your actions, it'd alter the mission accordingly.

I'm having the same problem. I don't know what to do!

Post Mon Mar 17, 2003 4:04 am

ok, so where's the submit bug report email for this game??

any forums MS is using for reporting errors (or in this case blatant lack of proper QA)?

Does anyone know what faction they belong to? It would suck but if we could backtrack to where we became their enemies (which shouldn't be too long ago) maybe we can just go back to the autosave instead of doing nothing like right now. If it helps any, my enemies (red) are:

Mollys
Corsairs
Outcasts
Gaians
Liberty Navy
Liberty Police, Inc.
Liberty Security Force
Samura Industries
Kishiro Technologies

I wonder if it's one of the last two?

When Quintain tries to dock, I went in before him and got stuck inside lol. Of course I couldn't save that.

I wasn't playing the last few days and was thinking maybe we can back track if possible to a different space station where we can pay to change our info so we are better with the Samura and Kishira but I'm sure it would be cool but there was a hole story we followed will you think the mission fail if we back track without using the saved games.

Well I found a neutral Freeport base owned by the Zoners but I can't dock there "docking not allowed" so the only thing we can do is backtrack

Post Tue Mar 18, 2003 7:35 am

The base belongs to Samura industries!
Strange that it doesn't work. Mission script does set a friendly "vibe" between you and the station, so it should work. Hmmm.. maybe it shortcircuits in some cases..

Can some one send me their latest savegame before that point in mission together with restart.fl and autostart.fl. ( [email protected]). I think I might be able to fix it.. (but I no longer have my SP savegames)

I'm getting the same thing. The bummer is not being able to dock or go anywhere else to do something about it. "Docking not allowed", etc. Because your 'in mission'.

While sounding good on paper, the reputation scale or at least the implementation of it SUCKS! This is the second time I've been hosed on the SP missions because of the lame reputation deal. The thing is I never shot at ANY commercial, military, or police. Never, nada, zero, none. Ya I made a couple of bribes to level my reputation with the hackers. But if its not enough to hurt my rep with the cops it sure shouldn't be enough to affect a company.

Basically I figured I would slurp up a ton o cash as a trader and then blaze through the story mission so as to keep some continuity. So I played to the point where I could get the dromedary and racked up 5.5 mil in no time running cardamine, arms, and engine componants between beaumont, mactan, and buffalo (a sweet pirate route, very close to holes)

So with a pretty neutral rep and a fat sack o cash I figure I got it whooped. Nope I guess I'll have to go back a few saves and run around bribing people and kill another 857 xenos until samura is happy. LAME

Then I guess I'll have to go back and whoop hovis in the dromedary again, what freighter-its a racing sloop! hehe.

What I would like to know is...
Is there a cheap and easy way to hack a rep with a single faction. Iam talking editing .ini or savegames? Yes, I know about bribes, xenos etc, don't bother suggesting these.

Does somebody have a list of the factions you have to be neutral or friendly with to finish the SP missions? If I have to go on a bribe-quest I would like to just do it in one fell swoop.

And to those who suggest that the fun of the game is not knowing who you have to be in good with as things progress. I would agree, except its so linear scripted that it won't let you dock, go bribe someone, go to another system, or do anything else that is not the next mission waypoint. So that argument is invalid.

So far FreeLancer is a major dissapointment. Had some fun with the multiplay on the lan for a while, but once you got the best ship and goodies all incentive ends and things get pretty dull.

"FreeLancer Alpha 1-1, you are cleared for launch. [We apologize for the delay, but it took a while too get all your enemies lined up outside to shoot you as you undock Good luck out there[!"

Well, it's actually pretty logical... Lane Hackers prey on big corporations like Samura. Naturally, boosting your rep with one will really harm your rep with the other.

Post Thu Mar 20, 2003 12:45 am

I only had the credits to hack my reputation once, I don't remember who off the top of my head. This game has problems if that's enough to make Samura hate me so much!

Post Thu Mar 20, 2003 1:06 am

This can also happen if you attack any ship friendly to that station within sight of the station. I once attacked a samura convoy outside yokohama station when there were no cops around...the station turned red and stayed red forever, even after leaving the system etc....and that station is owned by Kishiro who is even an competitior (enemy) of Samura.
Luckily I didn't really need to land there.

Hi All I back tracked 2 mission 5 and visisted every station that took me to the story line payed out every bugger that could make my rep better I came across to LEVEL 7 LEEDS LEEDS so I payed out the bartender and the only thing he offered was to make my rep better with KISHIRO TECHNOLOGIES so I took off and went on finding better places to make me look good with the SAMURA INDUSTRIES and no luck with any bases I was on or went too....either we have to start over and make sure we don't pee off SAMURA is the only way we can pass that level.....I'm sure there's someone out there who knows how we can pass this dam level
