How do you get weapons off of wrecked ships?

If you are stuck in a mission and do not know how to continue, this is the place to ask for help. Missing that elusive Level 10 Shield? Don''t know where to find the lost Ohtori ship? This is the only place where spoilers are allowed!

How do you get weapons off of wrecked ships?

I bought the location of a wrecked ship but can't get the weapons off of it. I've tried blowing up the ship but all it does is destroy the weapons (the ship won't even blow up with a starkiller torpedo!)

LOL, you shoot them and they drop the weapons. The ship itself doesnt blow up.

In my experience, that is how you do it. Of course, I've only found one so far, so I may not be the greatest authority on it. If you're having trouble, try targeting the engines or something, so as not to damage the weapons. Just a thought.

Come on over to the Dark Side y'all...it'll be a hoot[!

Just a quick question... how does sub-targeting different parts of a ship help you? It doesn't really do anything... you're weapons still hit all over the ship, not just the part you targeted.

hmmmmm i never spend money on the locations of stuff... chances are if u pay say 4000 credits for the location of some patrol somewhere, u get maybe 2-3 k when u sell the stuff u got... so unless u get really rare or hard to find weapons, i just explore on my own

SPOILER

Yes you do shoot them to get the weapons but I figured out if you leave the system and come back then the weapons will have respawned on the ship. INFINITE MONEY baby.

The ships don't ever explode, even if you shoot them until their bar is empty.

Question 1: just shoot

question about the sub-target(aim at weapon):
it's for missle only, used to disable that gun

you say its not worth it but let me tell you to my knowledge i have found 2 wrecked ships each having 20 units of cardomine and one ship that had 20 units of artifacts so just those three ships are enough to sky rocket your level a bit

I've found 6 or 7 wrecks so far and I have only just arrived in Leeds. Only two of them were worth paying for info.

All the others contained low level equiptment or low selling cargo. The cardamine was the best selling for 30,000 on Manhattan.

Like others have said it is better to just fly a search pattern through all the dust and radiation clouds. So far I have found a wreck in every one I have visited.

I've found lvl10 weapons on a wreck. Is there any weapon list around ? That would be great, since I want to do the most harm with my brand new titan

What I usually do:

slot 1: windstalker
slot 2 and 3: salamanca / wyrm type 2
slot 4 and 5: lvl10 weapons found on a wreck.

... but I would like to see a list about where to find such weapons... I always have the impression of mising something...

Glad I read this thread. I was confused. Found a few wrecks, and I hit the same wreck twice on different outings and got the same stuff each time (didn't save though...that was worth a LOT of money and I felt...well...cheap. LOL). Wondered if it was a bug, but glad to know the stuff regenerates. To keep it real I'll only let myself hit each ship once then (just glad it marks them on the map so I can remember).

I'll always buy a tip for info on a shipwreck. Stuff like bases/planets, no (since those are easy to find), but the curiosity would kill me if I didn't investigate an abandoned ship.

Regarding the ships being destroyable, something interesting I found. Sometimes they are, and sometimes they're not. They always come back next outing, BUT...I've had instances where I've destroyed a ship...and then another time with the same ship I COULDN'T (bar would go to 0, but it didn't explode). Talk about weird. So it seems SOMETIMES they're destroyable, and I have no idea what makes the difference.
