okay you have Phpbb forums and they have this neat tool were you get to send a private message to someone, sort of like forum email. can TLR get this...

Will you still have the option to view the forums in this classic view? I'm very opposed to most forms of change.

I cannot say for sure Darkstone, but I don't think you will - as it replaces the current 'coding' with the new coding.
