Lost/Deleted topic

Yesterday I put a new topic in the Off-Topic-Forum with a link to a funny cartoon about how to elect in Florida (Title: Something funny in these hard voting times - or similar). This post has disappeared in the mean time. I don't know how or why.
Technical problems ? Post lost in TLR-Space ?
Problem with forum rules ?
Of course I know that political discussions are not allowed in these (fine) forums. But after considering the cartoon I could not find any content who could be interpreted as propaganda for a candidate. And it's not advertising a commercial site.
Could any of the Moderators check it or answer it ? thnx

Probably moved to the non-sensical thread ......

Didn't think about that - but it's not there. I did a search for my own post <lol> - no matches found.

Maybe although its not pertaining towards any specific candidate, the fact that it WAS in relation to the upcoming president elections in America will be the reason. It was me, and simply because it was politics. Why? I thought that if that thread was left, although it was vaguely amusing it WOULD have started a few comments about the candidates.........which would have led to a supposed discussion. Politics is one hotbed of topic discussion. Yes - i wish we could discuss it, but politics and religion really do bring out the worst. You either support one side, or another. There is NO persuasion for those who have made up their minds, but they try their best to persuade others that they are wrong. It leads to very damaging flame wars. Even 'best mates' who have opposing views can lose a friendship as topics heat up.

Please - we do not wish for anything to instigate any political discussion at all. Anything i see bringing anything to do with elections/presidents etc on a games forums will be deleted - including anyone who posts with propoganda/links in their sigs. Its going to be a nasty fight in the big world - and I would like to think that people can come to TLR and not have to see it here as well!

Sorry if it caused offense, but if it was locked it may have led to others starting posting things.

Thank you for your answer. I accept this explanation.
But I do not agree with your reasons. The topic of the cartoon is not the decision between B or K but the problems with the voting machines - and that's not a fake.
Not even a joke.

No - but it was inferring it was rigged in Bushes favour. Whether that is true or not is something i neither wish to debate or see.

That is politics, that is incitement, and thats why i didn't tolerate it. Lets face it, its stating that the vote is going to be rigged so that Bush gets in regardless. Try and tell me that its not propoganda after the last election 'inconsitencies' etc.

Its blatant incitement etc!

From the FAQ:

Certain topics are not allowed, for example do we have a policy that we will not allow topics on politics,

There you have your answer

Politics is politics. Sometimes you can cut the line rather closely but anything to do with it, until well AFTER November 2, has no margin of error available. No matter who wins, the losing side will be spoiling for an argument so it probably is best to steer clear of any topic involving partisan politics directly or indirectly and, also, questions concerning how votes are counted, etc., etc.
