This will earn me a slap but...

The forums are too slow o load I feel, and it is too much effort to move the mouse to the Stop button sooooooo....could you section the forums so that there is about 30 threads per page and link to the different pages

Eg.
Forums > Freelancer Tutorail Forum > Page 1 > ** Tutorial ** ------------------

It's kinda annoying to have to either wait ages for the page to load or for you to be bothered to click Stop.

Thnx

It's eyes were completly devoid of life,
Empty Orbs that took in the world with an unfeeling gaze,
A thin trail of blood ran from a fresh wound,
But it would not or could not tend to it,
Only one thing ever brought a spark of vitality,
To the eyes of this Tortured Soul:
The Suffering of others.

I think the best thing is to learn to use the forums. There is (top right) a selector for how old the posts are that you see. Don't have 100 days, or 60 days, or even 30 days (lets face it, a thread that hasn't been posted in for 30days = worn out or dull as heck). try 10 days = less threads.

To put it simply, that should solve your issues. Next time, don't be so quick to criticise when you haven't bothered looking for the solution!

Also I might add when people post pictures in threads it does slow things down.

...... and are you using a 56k modem ?

Post Fri May 21, 2004 9:43 pm

ive always used 60 days regardless of my speed (and i did have slow connections before)

I use "last two days" because that is how often I come on TLR. That way, I stay up-to-date. I would suggest using a similar system, so that you will avoid older threads and only see the most recent.

Neo - That was aimed at me, wasn't it?

Thats right, tell'em Esq, us 56kers have to stick togeather. The only time I have had a hard time getting in was when we had all those big pics posted on the forum and after they were x'ed out, it was back to normal.

I think he was probably just refering to the fact that the forums load very slowly sometimes, regardless of how far back you set your threads (I have mine on last 5 days and it still took me about a minute to load the forums this morning on ADSL. It's fixed now of course. )
