When testing mods, can you add testing them on standard servers to make sure they don't work online. So if it does work question is should it be advertised on LRC, so think on this question "is it worth giving the noob cheats an advantage by posting it and us admins more nightmares"
I do test the mods on an actual server....and yes I have a LAN.
The biggest problem is that I am not the judge and jury when it comes to posting the mods. Sure there are a few that I didn't post but for the most part I have to trust that people don't spoil the fun for others by modifing their files and crashing the server or in the least causing tons of lag.
Hope this helps if not feel free to yell at me if you want.
Any suggestions are welcome...

hmm I see again another cehating mod has bee posted on LRC, do you want servers or not?
The community as such will abuse any mod they can, so pull that refire rate Hack, as its nothing more than a damned cheating mod.
edit: see it's finally been pulled, but after 175+ ppl downloaded it so it'll spread just like the cloak mod.
So the question I have, If the mod testers for LRC can't see the bigger picture for online gaming, why are they testing and posting them at all?

It was pulled in part because me and the AR boys put up a big stink.
Nobody tested the mod. WE tested it and found:
1. It didn't work as advertized.
2. It causes a TON of traffic, and therefore lag.
3. Anyone can use it, not just admins.
4. Somebody was smokin SOMETHING to put that mod up for DL.
And that it why I check TLR every day, ever since Cloak Mod.

Ugh! Sorry folks, we'll watch posting mods a bit more closer in the future.

TThanks! Actually, I'm not playing the blame game, but I think part of the reason
this got through was it was submitted by an admin or one of her crew, and it was
probably assumed that it was a benign mod considering it's source. So not checked.
Well, we all know the old joke/adage about assuming, right? @SS-(out of)-U-ME!
Great first step admitting a problem occurred, solution is obviously examine all mods
regardless of origin. It was caught relatively quickly, we learned from the cloak episode.
Actually, the whole premise of the mod was flawed. Don't fight fire with fire.
Don't sink down to their level. Just point the class-99 ban gun and fire!
If any admins want details about the characteristics of this mod to detect it, contact me
or Earendil of the Boston server. I won't give out crucial details of what we found openly.
