i have come out with yet another brilliant idea

when you type a message for a thread, u can have an option to preview ur message to fix links and stuff

Muwahahahaha!!!
I lost it!!!.....or better yet; did I ever have it?

And what do you do when the preview shows you your errors? you fix and reedit your text, of course. How is this different from just posting and then hitting the edit button?

Shot down before it even got off the ground...

@Wolfy, you know you'd never use it.

Because then you won't have that silly "edited by blah blah..." text at the bottom

Like this:

"Got anything for me?" - Trent, A.K.A. 'Mr. Eloquent'

Edited by - Frobozz on 20-12-2003 23:51:31

Which messes up the sig, of course...

Edited by - Frobozz on 20-12-2003 23:52:41

And forces more editing or it just grows and grows....

Edited by - Frobozz on 20-12-2003 23:53:50

What would be even better if, like some forums I see, you can edit the post
within a certain amount of time (an hour, a day) and the "edited' won't appear
allowing for spelling corrections without this embarassing....

I disagree about the "edited by..." text being silly. They are there to protect your freedom of speech, and not to embarrass you. If a mod edited your text, fairly or unfairly, then he could always be held accountable later...

True, unless the board software can recognise who it is that is editing, author Vs. mod.
Maybe it's just me who feels this way, but when I make a real bonehead
spelling mistake, I've gone as far as delete the post and start over again, especially short one-liners.

"Got anything for me?" - Trent, A.K.A. 'Mr. Eloquent'

ARG!
