Forum search improvement

I'm not sure if anyone else has made little whiny noises about this like i'm about to but:
Could you perhaps allow the search engine to list any threads a person has contributed to when searching under user, perhaps without the need to type in keywords so all posts are listed. This would help if you're trying to track down some of your own posts or a friend's perhaps. Currently it only lists topics started by those people

this site is running on a 350 MHz Machine.. You cant expect to have it finding your files too long as the site is also active in other activities.. needless to say that will take a veeery long archive finding time-consuming .. and lastly.. HANG... lol

say that again? on who's machine?? we need a server upgrade..

Science is knowledge.
Knowledge is power.
Time is money.
power = work/time
therefore, knowledge= work/money
therefore, money = work/knowledge
therefore, money is inversely proportional to knowledge.

therefore,

The more knowledge you have, the less money you have.

I'd glady donate, but I'm a few years too young for a credit card. I probably should've filled out those applications they sent me in first grade... Yeah, but it would be nice to get those old threads back in the archive. [coughpost count![cough

By the way, if you look at my last msg, that's a perfect example of the problem with brackets. Apparently, not only does it add brackets in sigs, but I guess it's leaving them open now, too.

Brackets are reserved for forum scripts/commands, so you'll have to live without them...

I've got a question. If you are on one site and you go to another (Where you can't see the thread), would the thread be updated, or would you have to log out of the Internet and go back in or close the web page and open it again??

...and that would be the 15th question in the "Who wants to be a Millionare" quiz...

Careful what you wish... You might just get it.

If the servers running on that machine why does the search page display a list of ALL the members on the forum? Surly this puts a huge load on the server? Wouldn't it be better to have the search by member thing as a text box? I'd imagine that would speed up the loading time of the search page by a lot...

I'm pretty sure you can also narrow the search by the poster's postings, if you choose to.

Listing the users does not take that long... all the things that need to put data INTO the database takes a lot longer

@Bargib: If i'd still had some sdram, you'd get it, but how about a nearly undamaged (the bios extended ram test shows it as damaged) 512MB DDR 266 ?
