the plan currently is to have the routes mapped with nav-bouies(sp?) and the areas off the paths filled with radioactive and gas-pockets to make traveling off the routes dangerous. nothing speaks against hiding something in there *hehe*

I dont get it, what in that picture is supposed to point out that its in hyperspace?

hyperspace in B5 basically looks like a red/black "noise"(that's what it's called in a 3d software) pattern.

To me it kinda looks like the badlands, except it's bright red and it doesn't have all those rocks densely scattered everywhere. So I'm just wandering, is that how you got that effect?

BTW, from the screenshot that was posted, I think it looks pretty cool. Keep up the good work.

I'm not quite sure if I understand this, so your going to have hyperspace as a system with a big red nebula (which is a great idea, looks quite a bit like hyperspace) which is connected to all other systems via jump holes?

Lets see if I can work this out,
The way I see it you'd have to have to seperate 'dimesions', the one with the planets bases etc, and hyperspace, have them overlap in such a way that when you enter a jump hole (or hyperspace gate) you enter into hyperspace and can travel to any destination you want? If thats the case I recommend making it significantly more hazardous to travel long distances (e.g. Hyperspace is radioactive and the longer you stay in there the more damaged you become) to prevent people going to one side of the map to the other in a short distance of time. But on the other hand much faster transit between one side of the galaxy to the other would be good as it would speed up the space of the game. Either way, looking forward to it RE your a hero to us all

In hyperspace, you won't be able to just go anywhere. The sensor range will be severly reduced, and there will be only a few safe paths (that will take some time to follow)
