I didn''t know that there is sound in the space..
This is where you can discuss your homework, family, just about anything, make strange sounds and otherwise discuss things which are really not related to the Lancer-series. Yes that means you can discuss other games.

I know, I know, if there weren't any sound in space, which there isn't, would it be fun to play? But hey, it would be realistic!
Actually the game already has that option for added effect. Just turn off the sound in the Options menu or on your main sound card and you are ready to go. So you have no need to worry about them forgetting the feature for you hard-core space junkies .
I pity da foo, thug, o villian that trys takin' over da world, then comes home cryin' to his mamma!

Or not?
If there were no sound, you would've needed to learn the language of the deaf to communicate. I can imagine a nifty holographic scanner for the hands.

I think milo brought this up once, although I'd actually thought of it myself a long time ago, which is that you could always equip the ships with sensors that would track ion emissions or something, and translate them into sounds, which would actually make for a plausible and useful sensory feedback device.
I dunno about anyone else, but even though I usually love the sound of games, after a bit I tend to revert to the old "sound in the background and stereo blasting". I remember back in the day of Priv, nothing like getting into a good dogfight and finding yourself getting whipped, but then something suitably hard-core came on the stereo, and all of sudden you're pumped up, kicking a$$ and Nine Inch Nails is screaming at you- adrenaline in overdrive as you hightail it home after wasting the ba$t@rds who dared defy you. Looking forward to it again, got some decent "F@#! OFF" music lined up already.
BTW if you haven't tried it, I would highly recommend it. Your dogfighting skills get much better with the right music.
And if you really want the fur to fly try Beethoven's 5th. Alex recommends it.
"If this is what you want to do, you'll do it, no matter how long it takes..........and usually the longer it takes the more fun you've had!"

Imagine if FL was made as realistic as possible...
You would then fire your lasers at a foe.. They tare him apart silencly, with no explosion he simply just floads appart... Pretty doll right?
But sound would be there when your own ship is being crybled.. Metal being torn, decompression and so on..

well, but there are micro-particles, dust and simmilar stuff in space, that also can transpost sonic waves over short distances (yep, someone like a scientist said that once)
But another question: how do we know that there is no sound in space? because people tell us...
What, if that's a big conspiration?

Check out this page... It answers all the above questions more or less...
