anyone looking forward to Eve online?

This is where you can discuss your homework, family, just about anything, make strange sounds and otherwise discuss things which are really not related to the Lancer-series. Yes that means you can discuss other games.

anyone looking forward to Eve online?

Kinda curious if this mmorpg is going to be any good or not.

Hmm dont know much about the game really... I guess I will wait and see how good it turns out before I try it or anything. It never really interested me like FL did. Graphics look pretty good though.

Im not.
The graphics sure do look great.
But I dont like the idea of paying per month and FL will consume all my spare time anyway

Trying not to get into one of those EVE vs. FL threads

thats why i posted it in off topic, so hopefully it wont turn into a vs thread

Dunno, the only P2P game I'm really looking forward to is Planetside. I don't like character-skill driven games that much.

There's no first-person mode, which is a bummer. Although from what Bargib said once, using 3rd-person mode is both useful and natural. So if I can get used to 3rd-person mode, AND Eve gets good reviews, I may check it out. It does certainly look fantastic.

I do have to admit the screenshots look brilliant, I hope it really does look that way when it's released. Sometimes screenshots come off looking way better than how it looks when played.

That said though I won't be buying it for two reasons.
1. Im not that desperate enough to play any game that'd cost me by the month, I have more bills than I can handle at the moment.
2. Im on a 56k line, so at my current speed i'll never purchase a game that is purely multi player, I'm more of a dabbler when it comes to Multiplay. Ive always prefered a good singleplayer game, that way I can play whichever way I feel without stepping on anyones toes.

Its okay, but murder if your stingy and have a 56K connection, i'd wait for FLO tho :: cough cough :: :p

I doubt FLO is coming Not for a long time at least.

I just heard about this today and was floored by the graphics. Utterly amazing. Plus it has the kind of gameplay I'm looking forward to. But, SW:Galaxies is going to be my MMORPG-du jour for the time being.

If I ever get a full-time job and it's still around a while from now, I'd definitely look into giving it a shot.

But that leads me to the online-only dilemma. With a game like Galaxies, being Star Wars and being backed by powerhouses, it's likely to stick around. But something like Eve, you can't be too certain whether or not it'll be there in a year; at which point, if it's not, the your purchase is worthless.

The game looks beautiful but I only pay to play once, and thats when I'm leaving the store. Don't like paying monthly fees. Looking forward to the SW:Galaxies space expansion though. Might be willing to part with the cash for that one.

No Eve for me, because it's a MMO and if there's one thing I hate......

I can't actually judge Eve on other things like gameplay, graphics etc., simply because I haven't been paying attention to Eve.

No for me, same reason as Eraser.
