Enough Already....
Like it or not, we all serve as "ambassadors" for the sites we call home, whether expressed or implied. It's a shame that a few people are coming here and implying they're from your fine site. It hurts all of you. I took some time and read many of your threads at your site, and seems most of you feel this way too.
I'm truly happy that so many people are joining up here. Do we always respond to newcomers with grace and gratitude: No, but forgive us, we're humans behind the text one reads. I do know that MOST of the time, we welcome people with open arms. I also know that a FEW times, we've erred.
Having never played X2, I feel I have no right to post any opinions about it. If I did, it would be out of speculation and ignorance. Saying something on the basis of "my game is better than yours", well, let's put it this way: My 10 year old daughter often tells my 5 year old son not to do that.
Finally, can our sites peacefully co-exist? Of course. We don't want to blame or judge an entire community on the actions of a few of its people, and especially since the community is not only not supporting, but admonishing, those people. Hat's off to you for this! Intelligent cross communication can only enhance both sites. Although we may have gotten off the a bad start, I look forward to sharing ideas, thoughts, and the like with all the fine people at the Egosoft site.
