Can always count on Accushot to have good musical taste

Bands I'm currently listening to...

The Hold Steady
Yo La Tengo
The New Pornographers
The Smoking Popes
Belle and Sebastian
Blonde Redhead
Built to Spill
The Clientele
Dismemberment Plan
The Magic Numbers

Oh, good times...Lollapalooza in my city in 2 months Accushot, you should come! Chicago is a great place, except for the 100 degree days in August (when Lollapalooza is going on)

I believe I may have said this before but good call! The New Pornographers especially; twin cinema is excellent and going on previews the new album is going to be damn good as well.

Lollapalooza looks ace I have to say - I've wanted to see the Black Keys live for a long time - although it's fast approaching the best time of the year for music in the UK. Coming up we have

The Latitude Festival with acts such as Damien Rice, The Magic Numbers, Midlake, The Good The Bad and the Queen, Clap your Hands say Yeah, The Hold Steady, Scott Matthews, Turin Brakes, ARCADE FIRE, Jarvis Cocker, The Rapture and Cold War Kids. Oh, and standup comedy from Lee Mack, Bill Bailey and Dylan Moran. I'm going to be there. And I'm bouncing off the freaking walls!

The Reading Festival - I won't type out the lineup because it's long and I can't be bothered, but it's going to be immense. Arcade Fire, Bloc Party, the Chili Peppers, the list goes on and it's one hell of a list. Look!

Oh yeah, and I should probably mention the biggest music event of the year. GLASTONBURY! Name your top ten bands of the year and chances are nine of them are playing. It's an absolutely unbelievable lineup and it's here!

If I can squeeze Chicago in between that lot I'll certainly let you know!

@Mustang: Not sure if you like Neon Bible? Do you have, um, ears? Seriously though, what did you think of Funeral? They're two very different albums and I know some people who hate one and love the other. I personally prefer the newer album but it's a close call.

I haven't actually listened to funeral, I bought Neon Bible on the back of a stellar review in a music rag. I love parts of the album but tracks like Black Mirror and No Cars Go just feckin grate me, so I'm kinda of two minds about it.

I remember posting a topic about this. Lets see Led Zeppelin, AC/DC, Jimi Hendrix, Stevie Ray Vaughan, Joe Satriani, Boston. All Classic Rock like that not into much newer stuff unless like some like Joe Satriani.

No Cars Go is actually a track off of their EP Us Kids Know or just referred to as The Arcade Fire EP by some people

right now I'm completely enthralled by the song WHITE BREATH by T.M revolution, they're a Japanese band that did quite a bit of the music for some of the newer gundam series i believe.

One post-Glastonbury shower later and... oh sweet jesus. That was the best music festival EVER! 2005 was amazing, but 2007 just blew it out of the water. Highlights for me included Bloc Party, Cold War Kids, a bit of comedy from the legendary Bill Bailey and, oh yeah, Arcade Fire. The Arcade Fire, who's set was so unbelievable, so massively immense, there were people next to me literally crying through it. No word of a lie. About 180,000 people attended the festival and there must have been at least 100,000 watching that set; as far as I could see they were ALL singing along at the tops of their voices. I just came away in a daze, it was...well...moving. Plus, y'know, I got in for free which really was the icing on the cake.

Was anyone else there enjoying the mud, music and, well, more mud?

Bump for Sigh - Hangman's Hymn Me-Devil (Clawing out the devil in me heart!)

can't say i really listen to them much anymore but prog rock like pink floyd and rush and even the occasional zappa were my only early exposure to good music. unfortunately in most of the US the am-fm frequencies have been 'clearchannel'ed - all you can get outside major cities is swamp rock and popular country - of course in the city you get all that and popular metal (agh! linkin snarf! or new slayer/metallica - ahhg!) so really, you may as well throw your car's am/fm radio out the window as actually listen to it

atm i am listening to Ensiferum Victory Songs Wanderer not that you care, but I am fighting bad taste one heart and mind at a time here
