This is where you can discuss your homework, family, just about anything, make strange sounds and otherwise discuss things which are really not related to the Lancer-series. Yes that means you can discuss other games.

I decided I needed to pick up a new network adapter so I could on the Internet on MY computer instead of using my parents' Macintrash. So, I went out and picked up a wireless USB network adapter. Didn't have to open up my computer to install it. Just a USB adapter. Had no problems installing it and the connection is excellent. No cables to route through the house. I love it.
I was forced to go wireless by Mrs Taw she said if we didn't she'd tear up all the lovely conduit and my carefully laid out cabling. In the end I was left with only two wired connections, everything else is wireless. Oh well at least it's secure, as secure as I can make it anyway. I still don't like it though.
I prefer wireless because of the lack of cables. Granted, it would be faster if I had a hardline, but's still fast, the way it is. It's just too much of a pain in the ass to route the network through the floor in my room into my brother's room and back into the old kitchen area where the cable modem is. It's simply way too much hassle. I didn't even have to open up my computer. Although, I'll have to do that anyway when I get my new video card.
Wireless G is plenty fast for most tasks. If you have ADSL, the difference in speed is not noticeable between wired and wireless.
When Wireless N gets standardized, I'm going to upgrade to it. As it stands, Wireless G only cost me $60 (1 wireless interface card and 1 hub)... which was another one of its selling points.
