This is where you can discuss your homework, family, just about anything, make strange sounds and otherwise discuss things which are really not related to the Lancer-series. Yes that means you can discuss other games.

ThePirateBay

I don't know if any of you are familiar with torrents....but The Pirate Bay is planning on buying Sealand, which was a former British Navy platform in the North Sea. They would be buying it for £65m. Apparently they want to make it their own nation outside jurisdiction of the UK or any other country

The Something Awful Goons have some competition then...

Already done off of the coast down south somewhere. The guy's got his own passport system and other things, although he claimed the old fort in the sea because the Defence claimed it wasn't there or something?

He's been trying for YEARS to have it recognised, failed so far.

Chips I think I read about that one in our newspapers this week...the guy wants to sell it now

It would be pretty easy to get recognized...All he'd have to do is launch a missile to any surrounding country

I heard about Sealand being up for sale the other day on R4, if PirateBay do buy it, it'll be like the old offshore pirate radio stations back in the 60s, providing what the public demand instead of the corporate and govt controlled monoliths.

PirateBay have some clout too, when the Swedish govt tried to shut them down last year and siezed their kit , the authorities had their webservers DoS'd by PB users and supporters to such an extent that a few days later, they had to give all the stuff back and embarassingly "forget all about it."

DoS attacks seem to be pretty effective it seems. I used to have the Blue Frog anti-spam thing that would send an automated message to that spammer every time it was found in an inbox or spam box. It was pretty effective I'd say. Though the spammers managed to shut down the servers Blue Frog used via DoS attacking them
