where does the time go?

This is where you can discuss your homework, family, just about anything, make strange sounds and otherwise discuss things which are really not related to the Lancer-series. Yes that means you can discuss other games.

Where does the time go, eh? Well, fighting with Esquilaxitavia is a time-consuming task Taw, and time flies when you are having fun .

Oh, and pass along my best wishes.

I think we need ff and slo-mo options for life. I'm all for speeding up the working week and slowing down weekends and holidays. Or failing the fast forward button there needs to be a 'win lotto' button too, then I wouldn't have to worry about working and just have that and a slo-mo button.

A hint from the licensed professional (me)... turn that little nut on the pendulum to the left a few turns and you'll slow it down nicely.

I said the same thing when I got that age a year back Taw...

There are times when it crawls when you wished it went faster and other times when it speeds by so quickly that we miss things and wished it would slow down.

The theory of relativity..it's all down to that

but why does the perception of time vary is much, and why it "seems" to pass more quickly as you get older? Is it metabolism, accumulation of emory, or is the perception of time passing the essence of time itself? does time have any "real" existence outside of one's perception of it?

I think it just down to how long you have existed on the planet. When your 5, a year consists of 20% of your lifetime, which is perceived as a long time by said 5 year old. However when your 50, a year only makes up 2% of your life and therefore appears to go by with much more vigour. This combined with steadily increasing levels of 'stuff to do' as you get older (increased work responsibility, longer hours, children, housework, nagging wife etc), time appears to fly by.

I am sure that once you retire, start having 6-monthly hip-replacements and weekly angina attacks things will start to slow down again as you reminisce about the "good old days, when you could buy a cat for a dog and a house for thruppence"

These days, a week seems like just a day. First its monday, then it seems the next day is friday. The younger, the slower, the older the faster.

I like my time machine. I keep it under my bed and use it on fun days.

My theory:

Short term memory inattention ... as opposed to loss.

As one gets older, the day-to-day ordinary and routine become less and less remarkable. So the day fills with forgettable mediocrity and inanity.

As the week passes, one is rudely awakened that it had passed unremarkably and, thusly, too quickly. This doesn't mean we are bored or jaded, necessarily. Just that it takes something really special to hold our attention and have it fill out the moment such that we are plugged into the moment on all of our sensory circuits.
