@Para: Ah, well you'll undoubtedly even happier at what I'm going to tell you now. I, my girlfriend and a few mates have taken a week off work, and we're going to be spending it at the End of the Road Festival. Not only that, it'll be free because we've all signed up with Oxfam to go along as unpaid supervisors. In return for Oxfam paying my entry (around £180 or so) I'm going to be forced to stand at the very front of most stages, tell people what to do, take up station near the beer tent and occasionally point someone in the direction of the toilets. All this while putting up with music from Brakes, British Sea Power, Ed Harcourt, Jim Noir and the fantastically wonderfully brilliant Guillemots. I'd pay for this job.
As Taw said, you should really consider a trip across the pond. Because If you're going to go anywhere for music the UK appears the place to be at the moment, and it's only a short-haul taxi ride from the UK to Tawakalnistan. Aside from the festivals, when I get back I will be going to see - in chronological order - Guillemots, The Dears (!!!), The Magic Numbers and Radiohead. All playing in Bristol in October within the space of about 14 days. November looks equally promising. I may sound like a f**king excited schoolboy but I really can't wait.
