Just a question

This is a question that has puzzled me for a while now so i thought that i would see if anybody here know the answer

What is the difference between Diet Coke and Coke Zero???

From what i have found out......THERE ISN't ONE!

Post Mon Aug 07, 2006 12:49 pm

can't really say. I don't drink Coca-Cola, it gives me terrible indigestion and hurts my ulcer. the only soft drinks I partake of are dandelion & burdock, sherbert lemon, traditional (ie cloudy) lemonade, and cream soda. In the past I used to occasionally drink ginger beer until i found out that it was fermented, and therefore haram , although I can think of certain "people" who might disagree with that.

Coke Zero is essentially Diet Coke by another name. The main (and possibly only, I don't know) difference is that Coke Zero uses far less Aspartame as a sweetener than Diet Coke does, perhaps in response to the fuss kicked up a few months ago about it's possible harmful effects. The official Coca Cola line is of course very well thought out; apparently Coke Zero tastes far more like the Classic Coke we all love while remaining a zero-calorie drink.

Personally I've found it's easier to just stick with beer. Guinness Lite anyone?

Unlike Diet Coke, Coke Zero is based on the formulation of Coca-Cola Classic.
Coca-Cola Zero or Coke Zero is a product of the Coca-Cola Company. It is a low-calorie variation of Coca-Cola Classic sweetened with aspartame and acesulfame potassium (also known as Ace-K).

Diet Coke sweetened with Splenda 2005

Diet Coke isn't sweetened with Splenda, that's another separate brand called "Diet Coke sweetened with Splenda". As far as I know Diet Coke is sweetened with close to 100% Aspartame, while Coke Zero uses perhaps 40-50%. And of course Coke Zero tastes more like Classic Coke. Apparently.

In my honest opinion, Coke Zero does NOT taste anything like regular Coke. Zero tastes better than Diet Coke, to be sure, but not the regular stuff.

The difference is that Coke Zero hasn't been on the shelves as long as Diet Coke.

Both are still disgusting and are no substitute for Coke Classic, Cherry Coke, or a good Vanilla Coke. If you want sugar-free, go get a glass of water.

Nukelt has hit it right on the button
Tried Zero and to be honest i'd rather drink Ginger ale/beer...and i really hate that stuff

If you want a diet coke that is actually good, try thier Diet Blackcherry vanilla coke. It is close to the regular one, with less after tast. Works good woith a diet. Caffeen(sp) helping with curbing apitite, and sweet taking the desire for sweetness with out any calories. Hey, I can't complain, it helped me lose 45 lbs.

Diet Coke Black Cherry Vanilla
1.2 Cal
0.1 Carbs
28 Sodium
31 Potassium
37 Phospherus
23 Caffeen
0 Sacchrine
57.6 Aspertame
31.2 Ap
0 Sacralose

All this in comparison to the 125 mg aspertain that Diet Coke has, no wonder it has such a bad after taste.

*Shudders* Coca-cola... such a vile beverage. Don't get me started! As for *some* people's allegations about GB, it does not contain alcohol. If it did, a tea-totaller such as myself would not consume it. Besides, *some* people should bear in mind that there are carbonated versions of GB that do not contain yeast.

Post Wed Aug 09, 2006 10:16 am

yeast? remind me again what happens when you mix yeast, sugar, and water? something beginninmg with erm "f" I think?

Post Wed Aug 09, 2006 8:52 pm

Even if "f" *does* occur, there are many methods of removing any alcohol that is produced. There are many beverages that are processed to remove alcohol, and are therefore made haram . Why, such beverages are already available in the Middle East. Is it so hard to believe that GB could be alcohol-free, or are you simply drawing inferences from my seemingly-drunken and meandering ramblings?

I wish they still made Vanilla Coke, that stuff was the nectar of the gods. And Pepsi tastes like an old, crusty septic tank.
