freelancer

This is where you can discuss your homework, family, just about anything, make strange sounds and otherwise discuss things which are really not related to the Lancer-series. Yes that means you can discuss other games.

freelancer

hi, I can't say that I realy know anything about moding or editing games, but a few weeks ago I was speaking with some friends that know something about that and they have told me that there are some games with open source code that would be easyer to mod even to make something like freelancer, and maybe would be easyer to, to run multiplayer servers.

If that is true, why anyone have tryed yet?

I'm conviced that with the work of some moders this would be a chance of build an entire new game that fullfill the freelancer enthusiasts.

Of course it would be need to improve some things, and get a branded new story, but it would probably works and be a big sucess in our comunity.

Vegastrike is an open source game I think, although I found it fustrating to use, and didn't like it.

There are some out there, but I don't know of any others. I'm waiting upon the arrival of Darkstar One instead (not a freebie by any stretch, but looks Freelancer-esque).

There is a german demo of darkstar one out, available here:

so, why nobody trys to make a new game insteed of make mods to a very limited source code that will never give us all thetwe want.

I know it's hard to build a staf capable of work together, but perhapes all could start wih a contest of back ground ideias for the game history.

then other contests could happen in the devoloping of history, art work and balance.

in time the interested staff would join if the project show's any intress.

probably because no one has the resources to do so, not to mention 5 years to spend every waking moment on working on the game?
