At least you could do it, thanks to synchro-mesh gearing. Back in the old days you'd probably have wrecked your clutch.

While I was learning, it got to the point when I had to 'grind' manoeuvres 'til I could do them properly. One two hour lesson I spent at least forty-five minutes looking backwards. Needless to say I sprained my neck and couldn't turn my head for a week. Happy days.

lets see, i didnt mess up to bad, i had a minor fender bender when i was 15, passed my licenseing test the first try, since then ive been pulled over 3 times, no ticket, once was in a tractor (dont ask) had a fender bender and rolled a grain truck...

thats about it, oh and i totalled a snowmobile and crashed to other ones, and yet my freidns say im a good driver, i say there crazy...

i think the worst i have done was bounce a silverado of an enbankment no real damage though, twisted the front bumper a little, thick fog and lack of expience behind the wheel of something that big was to blame, and a few days ago i got a warning ticket for doing 50 mph in a 40 zone.
now the real fun part is i want to get a CDL (commercial drivers licence) so i can drive larger trucks and buses am i crazy or just strange?
One thing i will say about driving is that you can be the best driver in the world but its the other person you need to watch out for.

I was carpooling to classes with a friend, when she killed it,It was way funny, but she couldnt get it started again, so we pushed it out of the intersection, and we tried everything we could to fix it, but it was no good. Finaly she takes out the key and thows it on the ground. after she picked it up and stuck it in the ignition again, it wouldnt even turn. I let her sit for about a minutes, then reached across, took out the key, fliped it over, and with a small flick, it started right up. I've got no clue what happend, other than she had the key in upside down.
