Rosenrot

Are there any Rammstein fans out there? I'm pretty sure there are, maybe not registered with this site, but I'm sure that some people who are reading this like Rammstein. For those of you who don't know Rammstein, they're a German heavy metal band who've become very popular in the US. They've just released their new album, Rosenrot (in English it means Rose-red.) I don't speak German, and all of their music is in German, but they're still pretty damn good.

Rosenrot is a very good album IMHO, although almost everyone who's been with Rammstein for a while can agree, it's not their best. If you like Rammstein, or would like to get a taste of them, go to their English website rammstein.com. There you'll find six songs from Rosenrot that you can listen to for about a minute. Some of these are exceptional pieces of work IMO, such as Spring, Mann Gegen Mann, Wo Bist Du, Zerstoren, and Rosenrot. One last note, if you're a guy and you're not homosexual, DO NOT watch the video for Mann Gegen Man, you'll regret it.

its sometimes nice to hear lyrics in german instead of english, that way you don't get put off by cheesy lyrics BTW, to anyone who's wondering, they aren't homosexuals .

i like rammstein - i detest music videos.MTV is an insult to the world

curiously, KMFDM is a german 'band' whose songs are in english and who are popular in germany as well as the US. KMFDM stands for Kein Mehrheit Für Die Mitleid, which means No Pity for the Masses (now bend over backwards, and kick some ***es)
they are easily recognized by the eye popping graphics on their albums and music videos, fashioned by the artist Aidan Hughes whose style is grounded in illustrated "pulp" novels and revolutionary propaganda posters

Not a fan of Rammstein, all I can remember is thier "Ich Bin" song they played at one of the awards things... I couldn't help but laaaauuuuggghhh

There are a few other bands in Europe (most notabily a dutch one), that sing in English - and they're pretty good. Can't remember what that particular one is called, but they're on the festival circuit this year in the UK.

Yeah, Rammstein is very good. I happen to know German and that certainly gives you a little advance on understanding lyrics. Very good topic, this one, Killa One of the most decent ones in months, in my opinion.
