Wheel of time

This is where you can discuss your homework, family, just about anything, make strange sounds and otherwise discuss things which are really not related to the Lancer-series. Yes that means you can discuss other games.

My father began collecting the WOT novels many years ago and I feel a certain obligation to complete the collection. That being said, I haven't re-read them since "Winter's Heart" was released. Why you ask? Because I am waiting for Jordan to finish the series. He brings new meaning to the term "epic" by dragging out and elongating *every* piece of plot and dialogue to an absurd degree. Indeed, the multiple plots are exceedingly ambiguous and multi-threaded, not to mention the fact that one sub-plot may be left out an entire novel only to be continued two novels later. This of course, makes the text difficult to fully appreciate. On top of that, it takes Jordan two years to release each novel and the reader often forgets who is who and details of the myriad sub-plots by the time the next installment comes out. To make matters worse, he even took a break from writing the series to write a *prequel* to the aforementioned works before he had finished writing them. Great logic (and marketing) there *rolls eyes*. I could go on at length, but suffice it to say that yes, I have read the works in question and enjoyed them. Somewhat. However, I have many reservations. I'm waiting to see how he finishes off the series. He'd better tie up *all* of the loose ends or else...

haha yes i very much agree on that the series is as you put it a re definition of epic, but also yes it is slightly spoiled but the time between releases, i too sincerely hope its a good ending even if it ends in the next book but with all the sub plots i doubt it will (heres hopin), im not too worried though when i get any book apon release i intend on reading at a good pace and absorbing it all but it never happens first battle and im off racing so time btween books is minima to me (with the whole re reading thing) aaaanyway thank you for you input.

Well, I re-read 1-4 and got to 5 and started remembering everything I was reading so I put it down. I'll pick up winters heart and re-read that then go get Knife of Dreams. But I have to finish Harrry Potter 6 and the Hobbit and few Staw Wars books I got for Christmas. I can't be in a hurry to wait for the next instalment of Randland.

Well, the next novel has been *advertised* as being the final one, but we'll see. He'll probably string it out for another two or three novels to make more money. Kind of like George Lucas .

thats good to hear, and i assure you the rest of the series is great as well and when it slows down a bit it makes up for it eventually, also if you enjoy the books there is a quite a good site if you havnt heard of it http://www.wotmania.com/index.asp, though for those that arent very far through the series there are spoilers in some areas of the site but aaanyway enjoy.
