taking a leave of absence

hey everyone, i'm just posting to let you all know that i'm going to leave the site for a while. apparently someone thinks i don't belong here, the person has sent me about 30 emails in the past two days basically telling me to get the f- off the site. i know that the opinion of the person dosen't matter but i'm leaving anyway. i just wanted to let the ppl who may or may not care why i have disappered. i will check in from time to time but i will be lurking otherwise. i will post a little but mostly be silent. most ppl are happier with me that way. i'm fine with that. i don't belive this person is a mod, i tried the address and it is a spoof so i'll just make the fool happy and leave.
arton alpha, signing off.

If you do that Arton your just saying "You Win," I'm positive it is not a Mod that is sending you those emails. You know everyone in that position around here is above that and always has been without a doubt. This is just some punk that doesn't belong on here himself if that is the way he is going to act.

To the person sending the mails, If you really want people to leave that bad come out on here and dont hide behind fake emails.

Post Mon Dec 12, 2005 9:06 pm

ha so those emails paid off, your leaving, good riddance!

j/k it wasn't me...sif leave because of some asshat emailing you, just block it.

Post Mon Dec 12, 2005 9:12 pm

Hmm... Chased off by emails thats a new one.

Whoever is sending these emails send some to me

Post Mon Dec 12, 2005 9:24 pm

you shouldn't leave because of that reason...

...and i'd also like some of those emails too..they sound tasty

*looks around, Its amazing the things one computer can do to another computer if you know what you are doing. I would love to have some of those sent to me too.

I am truly shocked. Have you discussed this with any of the moderating team? I assure you that if you can provide the management with details and examples that the utmost will be done to redress the situation. No-one has the right to say anyone doesn't belong here (except BP and Eraser because they own it) so you stay as longa s you want to. You've been here a while now AA so don't stand for this kind of rubbish, the staff and the majority of posters will always support you if you're being harassed.

I'll gladly assist you but this is prob going to be my last day on TLR for a while (g2g for a stay in hospital) however I'm sure my colleagues will do their best to help you and get whoever it is off your case

But if someone is sending you e-mail abuse it is a simple matter to block them, surely?

Post Tue Dec 13, 2005 2:43 am

Or, if you want to know who is sending it there are, methods, that the more computer-saavy computer user can use to trace the (physical geographical) location of said offender (I actually got ISP, State, and phone number from one trace from a particularly annoying female user, on MSN)

I would say that the wishes of one person are a very bad reason to leave a perticularly well-maintained and well-staffed site. practically, this place is set (permanantley) to my homepage because i love scrolling through the intrests of the day when i wake up in the morning.

And if that doesnt cheer you up, have a look at this:

the problem is this idiot is on the same isp as me but is using a fake yahoo address i'm not on a large isp this punk is in my area i did do a trace using several programs including one tech support recomended. i have the ppl at my isp on the matter i just called them. i'm just going stealth until they find something out or shut the punk down i have set my account to block the address and any other incoming from a hereintown.net address
he has not won i just did a tactical retreat
@grif, not funny
@coward, get a set and grow up

I agree with the others; don't let this...individual... run you off. As Taw said, there are only two people who can tell you that you can't be here, and they haven't said that. Just because some small minded pinhead feels that you're a threat to 'em is no reason to throw it in.Talk to the moderarors and see if they can't track down and get rid of the idiot, instead of feeling that you've got to go.

Nil Illigetimi Carborundum, man - and we'll be waiting.

Get program like Ghost Surf or such that hides you when your on. Also, most e-mail programs let you block a domain, @yahoo.com while alowing specific ones through, [email protected] No since letting him win the war.

Edit - Also forward the e-mail to the ISP provider as abusive mail. THey can handle it that way as well.

got some news my isp found him and shut down his net connection. apparently my isp is pretty strict when it comes to abusers and put there entire tech staff to tracking him down (about twelve ppl), i went to school with the *hole we were friends up until my last year of school, apparently he thought he was being funny instead he was breaking some major rules. this is exactly what i was told by tech support via the email i just recieved
