Overhaul for Firefox

This is where you can discuss your homework, family, just about anything, make strange sounds and otherwise discuss things which are really not related to the Lancer-series. Yes that means you can discuss other games.

Overhaul for Firefox

Firefox News

It is interesting that it was even needed, but, the beta version of this new one seems to work just fine.

In early November, it celebrated its 100 millionth download.

And the newer skins help with the look. The current one I got, gave it a good new look, so it wasn't seeming like a cheesie one. Makes it worth the change from IE.

I rather welcome this news because it means that the onset of distros for pay is pushed back a little while longer.

Opera

Finally, some news from the Beeb that isn't depressing.

I assume that it's because if they dawdle, others will steal their share of the market... as well as IE getting updated in another year or two (with Vista I believe).

I dunno moit. I enjoyed using FF when it was little-known, but now that it has become mainstream it is becoming... "cool". I don't wanna be "cool", man! Maybe I should switch to a "minority" browser like Opera... In any case, today is the 30/11, and I still haven't seen FF 1.5 available for download. Where the hell is it? I want to install it (along with a few other things) and update my Ghost image!

time for your weekly format, eh, Bunny?

I'm fed up with Firefox not displaying page formats correctly and being so slow at times. ordinary ol' Mozilla is a lot less flaky. but Opera's sold as a rock too and it's much faster and it's got more functionality too. it's not as simple to use as Firefox but it ain't exactly rocket science.

You can get the one I'm running, Version 1.5 RC

No problems with it so far, and I have had it up and running a little over a week. New skins for it too.

it's out now, but i'm using it until it's compatible with Sessionsaver.

Some of the new features/plugins are nice, like moving the download screen, to the bottom bar so it gives info, but stays out from under foot.

Opera

I'll have to agree with Mullah Taw there.

Taw - When I am not home to take care of Typhon , you can be damn sure that I reimage a couple of times a week. My brother would, and probably has, opened who knows how many variants of Sober when checking his email, etc.

about once every 6 months for me, and don't forget i have 3 utterly non-technical users to look after, yet we don't get viruses, hacks, download problems or anything much really. a few bits of adware that are easily got rid of, thats about all, unless hardware fails, or messed up game installations. that's because i lock all the other pcs down and don't give the family admin rights. ergo everything runs Mullah-style (mostly)
