The end of Wax on, Wax off
This is where you can discuss your homework, family, just about anything, make strange sounds and otherwise discuss things which are really not related to the Lancer-series. Yes that means you can discuss other games.

This man will be missed for the entertainment he brought. Pat Morita
he appeared in some truly awful films though, esp as stock-old-japanese-or-other-oriental-wise-man in a plethora of made-for-tv-films. I barely ever watched Happy Days so i don't really remember him in that but he often pops up as some sort of japanese officer in various low-budget war films. nice man from all acounts, accepted almost every script that came his way, enevr madea fuss about parts or money; got interned during the war, he was in a hospital bed recovering from pneumonia I think? and got marched off to a internment camp for japanese-americans.

lol. yeah I've noticed that too. He became a complete icon to the 80s teen though because of the Karate Kid films - at least he had one memorable part in his lack-lustre career, which is more than can be said for many.
but he did so many films that are now commonalities of mid-day and cable/satellite programming that someone somewhere is always watching a Pat Morita film (and he's getting very bored with them! ) I'm sure Morita himself did well enough out of royalties. It really is just a job for a lot of actors and as long as they get paid, quality doesnt particularly matter. And Morita never turned up a bad performance, no matter how awful a script or director or producer he had to work with. Happy Days alone prob paid his mortgage several times over, that's never off the telly.
yes he was good in that, he played R Adm. Kusaka iirc. Ito played Cdr. Genda. The late great Toshiro Mifune played Adm. Yamamoto, dubbed very badly btw while most fo the rest of the Japanese cast speak English. I enjoyed Midway although its a bit of a mess directorially, because it mostly sticks to the main points of the battle and doesn't get lost in romantic Hollywood tosh and rewriting of history. Not as polished as Tora! Tora! Tora! where Kurosawa even in his absence dominates the film, but still far more honest and gripping than that recent Pearl Harbour rubbish (that film should be banned under the Geneva Convention regarding total crap masquerading as entertainment.) Also Midway has quality actors of the old school not these pretty boys of today, and of course no cgi. I'm fed up of seeing overdone cgi effects that look so preposterous, the point of sfx is that you believe it, you don't sit there thinking "thats impossible and it looks cgi anyway" - I like to see real planes, rewal ships, real soldiers, not computer sprites. Which is why i prefer A Bridge Too Far over Saving Private Ryan!
One of the features of the Midway that really carries the film and only sad people like me ever notice is the score; watch the film and listen and it will sound VERY familiar! John Williams when he wasn't anything like the plagiarist he is now, this was a sort of trial piece for the themes he'd shortly use in Star Wars which was released the following year.

hmm are you sure you're not confusing him with Al Leong? He's another serial bit-part dude - you'd know him straight away if you saw him. You'll probably know him as Genghis Khan in Bill and Ted's Excellent Adventure or one of Alan Rickman's Henchmen in Die Hard...he also pops up in Beverly Hills Cop 3, Godzilla, Twilight Zone the Movie, Lethal Weapon and Escape from LA. He's always the henchman. Probably the most successful bit-part actor in Hollywood today!
Hate to blow the rabbit out of the water, but Pat wasn't in Big trouble in little china.
