Did you get Stuffed??

This is where you can discuss your homework, family, just about anything, make strange sounds and otherwise discuss things which are really not related to the Lancer-series. Yes that means you can discuss other games.

Did you get Stuffed??

Its that time of year again, US wise, that everyone over induges and gets stuffed beyond the comfort zone. Any favorite memories/traditions out there?

eh cant say. I dont celebrate Thanksgiving..so I get to stay home (for no reason really) and not stuff me face. But than again I find stuffing my face with turkey is uterly disgusting! (no insults ment, I just hate turkey..). I rather save it for Serbian Christmas in January..and than do the stuffing with pork chops

Post Wed Nov 23, 2005 11:51 am

i dislike turkey

Post Wed Nov 23, 2005 12:35 pm

Pork?!?!? You like pork but not turkey...I'm not huge on either...but...PORK!???!?!! *Starts referring to Leonhart as "The Porker"*

I prefer, Turkey, Dressing - not stuffing, cranberry salad, green beans, broccolli casserole, yeast roll. *Note, it as to be Kosher, so no ham. The tradition, use to be, the family togeather. This year is not for me, just me, my Mom and her husband eating out. Brother and 2 sisters cant make it. Dad and his wife about 100 miles away.

Brian...er fd, you do realise that turkey can kill you if not throughly cooked?

Post Wed Nov 23, 2005 2:13 pm

Oh, its well cooked, min internal temp is 160 deg F.

To a degree, this thread is more to see if there is too much self indulgence at this time of year, versus, Thanks Giving for what we have. The colonist were thankful to God (Religious discussion not desired) and the native Americans that helped them not only with food they shared at the meal, but help in planting/gardening to provide food for thier survival. Many died in the beginning due to the cold, scarsity of food and illness. Yet we are not thankful for what we have today.

And you still think I look like Brian Blessed?

Every year my grandma comes over. We stuff our faces with turkey, stuffing, mashed potatoes, green beans, pumpkin pie, and many more delicious food items I can not think of now. I love it

What's the difference between Michael Jackson and a grocery bag? One's white, plastic and dangerous for kids to play with, the other you put your groceries in.

All your oil are belong to U.S.

FD - lol. repeat after me....GORDON'S ALIVE!

FD's explained more about what Thanksgiving is in a few lines of tect than I've known throughout my entire life. Outside of the US hardly anyone knows what Thanksgiving is, and no-one learns anything about it in UK schools.

there's a reason for that though; the people who's memory is celebrated at Thanksgiving are people *we* (ie Britain) was glad to see the back of. Puritans who weren't exactly popular with our then govt. Of course, for a while they were top-dogs mid-century during Cromwell's era, but after he died and the King returned, they were out on their ear and many fled to America to join the co-religionists who'd gone earlier on the Mayflower.

I didn't know until FD said so that T'giving remember the Indians who helped the Mayflower colonists? I was under the impression the Puritans loathed the Indians for their savagery and licentiousness. Looks like I was wrong!
