What is in a name

This is where you can discuss your homework, family, just about anything, make strange sounds and otherwise discuss things which are really not related to the Lancer-series. Yes that means you can discuss other games.

The Emperor Tiberius, Augustus' stepson, and the Republican consul Tiberius Gracchus.

it was also not an uncommon name during the Byzantine period and consequently you still find some Greek families that use it. I happen to know of an Orthodox priest in Birmingham called Father Tiberius.

In an episode of Cheers, Frasier dreamt that Woody had the middle name of Tiberius.

prize please. I'm rather partial to Reese's Golden Cups.

hehe I carry the names of 2 great kings:
Aleksandar the Great

If fornicating with horses makes you great then I guess you do

Whats up with all these complicated friggin names...What about Ed...Not Edward...Just Ed And for the record, Alex in its own is better than any elongated form of it After 2 syllables, names just become a hassle.

P.S. - That's what part of the alphabet would look like if Q and R were removed.

my name : Donovan

but if I were to have a child ( yea the world WOULD shutter in fright with that thought) it would be F'lar after a caracter from a favorite book of mine.

Even thou I'm sure Taw will get it in two nano seconds anyone else have a guess were it comes from?

Blessed Be to all those that still dream of the flight to the stars.

Tyrus Cassius, you know... from Space: Above and Beyond. Lt. Col. T.C. (Tyrus Cassius) McQueen.

Or what about Maxwell Geiger or Hans Reismann. Or Russel Crowe's character in Gladiator... Maximus Decimus Meridius. Or names from Transformers, like Omega Supreme or Optimus Prime.

Repleetah sounds cool too somehow. It's from Wing Commander btw, the battle of Repleetah (long story, but it involves a bloody and brutal ground war).

There are so many cool names, just can't think of any more at the moment

"Donovan" has irish origins and means "the small dark-brown (boy)". Originally it comes from "Ó Donndubhán" meaning "son of Donndubhán" .

btw: "Donovan" is actually very trendy name - in the north of France (!!) Link

Google rocks

Chetnik: Nasty boy

@sw: Zander is a family name in Germany, one of the best knonwn members of that family is Frank Zander who produced some of the Worlds best known Pop Acts of the 70's and 80's like Boney M. and Milli Vanilli. ^

And "Zander" is a fish (sander in English i think) too.
Both don't make Zander to be one of my favorite names

@zazie...I see, I didn't know that...I first encountered the name Zander when a guy asked me and some friends to give a message to someone...nice name for a nice face. Anyways...it's a cool name...for some reason I like names starting with the one of the last letters of the alphabet.

@everyone else Thanks for the names

I would hate to have a name from some elvish text or something, (thank whatever that my parents were bikers) I'd probably just give myself a more normal name like Jack or Mary Jane... wait, no thats what i, on the weekend... oh never mind.

Simple names are to me a lot better than long complicated ones.
Names like:

Erin
Jake
Nick
Claude
Glenn
Alex
Dennis (I WANT A GAS FIREPLACE, LIKE THE ONE IN THE BROCURE!!! Oh Selma dear, i was just chatting with my good friend... *checks nametag* Dennis)
John

Shorter names are also easier to make cool nicknames for.

but yeah.
