broad balloon..

This is where you can discuss your homework, family, just about anything, make strange sounds and otherwise discuss things which are really not related to the Lancer-series. Yes that means you can discuss other games.

broad balloon..

Broadband airborne, broadband ballooning - airship broadband.

Weird, but amusing. The phrase - "Broadband, floating to a place near you!" could become normal?

What happens if terrorists shot em down though
OMG! wtf?! lol!

Okay, sorry -bored - lecture in 5

What is this about? Wireless broadband access?

Post Tue Oct 25, 2005 2:44 pm

Oh sweet lord, the link was never posted! lmao!

Yes, it was about filling up some helium balloons, and then having them flying around in the atmosphere allowing download speeds of up to 100mbps for normal household connections. The balloons could handle 100 times more customers than a satellite, and were alot cheaper as well.

I have no time to refind the link - BBC news website, technology - probabily somewhere in there on the main tech page (side links).

someone told me about this a while back

That sounds like a wonderful idea It'd also reduce our reliance on SONETs, and make broadband access more resistant to attacks (from governments, terrorists, Nature).

Post Tue Oct 25, 2005 4:14 pm

no matter how good it may be, how safe would it be to let a whole bunch of balloons float around the world...what about planes? I mean one of the them balloons inside an ariplane engine would deffinetly not be good?

But than again I am allways for faster d/l speeds...so yea GREAT idea ^^

yeah, the military is going to test 50 miles away from my house SOON!

It is all a conspiracy you fools. *tut-tuts and raises eyes to heaven, even though claims of the existance of such a place are themselves open to conspiracy accusations*

The alien landing party from Roswell are due to return sometime in the next three years. As we all know by now their craft looks terribly similar to a large baloon. In an effort to make baloons in our stratosphere so common place as to raise no attention, thus allowing the craft to return unquestioned, this scheme to fill the skies has been brewed. None-the-less, if it means wireless broadband with faster d/l, then welcome to Earth.

Druid you should build a "Conspiracinator"! Slogan: "Conspiracy is everywhere, even in your fridge"

Post Wed Oct 26, 2005 2:11 am

Pah! I do not posess a fridge. Ever wonder why they are "sealed"? They have sealed refridgeration units so that they can hide surveylance equipment inside secure in the knowledge that no right minded consumer would dare risk forfeit of warranty on white-goods by attempting to open a sealed unit.

See !? I was not kidding. In times where they (THEY!) want to implant mp3-players, radios, telefones and more into our girlfriend's boobs we can be sure that THEY put scanners into light bulbs and neon tubes. And they read your thoughts and watch what your fingers are writing and they see what you watch.
This is called YWGWTS: you will get what they see.

I can prove it: Link You see: I post the link to the Revelation-Site and THEY change it. Terrifying.

Lies! The Irish Drunkard *must* have a fridge. Otherwise, he'd be drinking warm beer which is sacrilege (except in England)... or so I hear . Warm beer... surely you don't lack *that* much class Id! Oh, foolish question .

Post Wed Oct 26, 2005 4:40 am

*Looks over shoulder*

Typical! Just mention the word "conspiracy" and the paranoid burrow dweller pops his head in. Well Mister Wabbit, FYI if you had been paying attention in class you would know that the local bar keep is the one who chills my beer and that I take my whiskey straight. No water, frozen or other wise contaminates that holy spirit.

There's probably some god-awful pun lurking in this topic somewhere, I just can't think of it.

Post Wed Oct 26, 2005 11:24 am

Leonhart, I dont think you need to be concerned with the balloons getting caught in turbines...The article said the balloons would be floating at an altitude of 24 kilometers (15 miles)...Planes fly at 6 miles (about 10 kilometers) Silly goose
