This is where you can discuss your homework, family, just about anything, make strange sounds and otherwise discuss things which are really not related to the Lancer-series. Yes that means you can discuss other games.

There can be only one...five times

I was just checking some movie news, and I learned that a new Highlander movie is ready to start filming. Now, I've heard about this one about two years after Highlander: Endgame hit theaters. It's called Highlander: The Source. It stars Adrian Paul Jim Byrnes and Peter Wingfield(from the tv series and aforementioned Endgame). Now, for those of you who don't know what Highlander is, the whole movie series is about a group of Immortals struggling to become the last one on Earth. The only way they can die is if they have their heads lopped off. The victorious Immortal would then take the power of the dead one and become stronger. The original movie was awesome, because the story was original and fun. The Immortals would (supposedly) fight until only one remained, hence, "There can be only one." Unfortunately, they decided to start making sequels, which nullified that idea. Three sequels, and now a fourth one. I'll admit that while I enjoyed the sequels alot(I have all movies on DVD), they just didn't have the magic or imagination of the first movie. This new movie, as I said above, is called The Source. The storyline, thus far, is Duncan Macleod and a bunch of other Immortals going to try to find the source of their power and immortality. Now before anyone I've got mixed reactions about this new movie. I love Highlander. I have always been a fan, but I have to wonder, when will it stop?

ANOTHER ONE!!!! Oook

Well now they have officialy run out of ideas. I say more monty python!

"And the Lord spake, saying, "First shalt thou take out the Holy Pin. Then shalt thou count to three, no more, no less. Three shall be the number thou shalt count, and the number of the counting shall be three. Four shalt thou not count, neither count thou two, excepting that thou then proceed to three. Five is right out. Once the number three, being the third number, be reached, then lobbest thou thy Holy Hand Grenade of Antioch towards thy foe, who, being naughty in my sight, shall snuff it."

@Finalday: I agree, but Adrian isn't that bad, given how successful the tv series was. I thoroughly enjoyed the show. I didn't think Endgame was all that bad, but they did a good job of butchering the DVD version. As for the new movie? I'll do what I always do, take a wait and see approach. It might be pants, but then, it might not. Too early to tell. Highlander still has some energy left. I'm still waiting for a damn game. The possibilities are there. You could have one hell of an interesting game.

agreed, lambert's a better highlander, adrian paul is still a good substitute, but there's no point in continuing this series which was spawned from a fairly entertaining but cheesy movie.just like the matrix, our hero becomes all powerful and has the world in the palm of his hand at the end- and somehow blows his chance to set things right? yeah, sure. come on hollywood - try reading a script without reading the title or asking whose on-board for it first

They should never have made *any* sequels. The original was superb and awful all at the same time - and for that reason alone it became a cult classic. The sequels/tv series were horrible.

What ever happened to the TV Series? I actually preferred it over any of the films.

Another thing, why did they cast Sean Connery as an Arab and an Arab as a Scot? or was that another set of films?

Post Thu Oct 27, 2005 5:04 am

he wasnt an arab he was a spaniard in highlander he played an arab in the wind and the lion

why must they ruin films with poor sequels ,the first highlander sequel was possibly the worst film ive ever seen
they did it with police academy as well
the original was a good film with decent jokes , now the whole series is a joke !
i know the want to milk every last penny but they just go too far
if the idea has run its course let it lie rather than milk it and make it die

highlander sequel 2 was very bad indeed and it was the worst movie id ever seen too until i went to see dungeons and dragons starring jeremy irons and that was even worse truly a waste of celluloid terrible direction laughable script throway characters at least higlander 2 had a story that worked in the higlander framework even if it was terribly executed you do wonder wjat goes through the minds of the directors and producers when they see the finished product in final edit pre-release they must realise how bad these things are and that the movies will play to empty houses

well, seeing Connor Macleod was slain to stop Jacob Kell, its gonna be mighty difficult casting Christopher Lambert (Connor MacLeod), since hes dead, and into Duncan MacLeod.

Yes ive watched the Movies, all four of em, I found that they should have stopped after three, rename three into two, and just cancelled two outright (the original two, The Quickening) since that would be more then enough. The Storyline literally ends after The Sorcerer, the original one anyway, the invention of Kell simply screws it up.
