Really off topic but is it true????

This is where you can discuss your homework, family, just about anything, make strange sounds and otherwise discuss things which are really not related to the Lancer-series. Yes that means you can discuss other games.

Really off topic but is it true????

hi all, i just needed to expouse some thought that has been plaguing me for a while, as my mind goes to strange places, so must I follow

you've probably all noticed in the last three years a sudden onslaught of "who will be " shows

some examples are America's next top model, The Intern ,The Apprentice, The Scholar, American Idol, Canadian Idol, Hells Kitchen (young Chefs), Idol shows all over the world. designers, cooks, artists, Acedemics, music, ect...

In fact there is a contest for every walk of Life ( from Math and Physics to Music) for Young people (under 30) to compete for who is the best, and these shows are generating tons of Capital.

Now if I knew the world was going to end in the next couple of Decades or Less and I were to build an Ark (Colony Ship), and I wanted the best and brightest the world over, but I didn't want to start a panic, what better way to find and identify the very best of our society, to take along. What better way for mutual agreement than to publicize the vote, and most of all it is done as entertainment so the general public is none the wiser.

Kinda makes you think, and with the revenues generated from all the advertising dollars it would not only fund itself but pay for the research, and materials to construct the ship and much more.

the Entertainment industry estimates a profit exeeding 2 Billion dolars US in the last two years alone for just the Idol shows " Who has that Money and what are they doing with it"

Just an off topic thought

If there was going to be an apocalypse - the last thing I would want would be:
A lawyer
A singer
A businessman
A used car salesman
A model.

Get worried when you have:
Carpenter idol
Bricklayer idol
Plumber idol
Water purification idol
Ray Mears idol
Teacher idol
Farmer idol
Sanitisation idol

However, in my mind - the time you should get really worried is when you get:

Prime Minister Idol.......although this won't be too far away I fear

I'm not quite a celebrity yet but by the time I finish this I hoepfully will be and I'll be all over the papers for a few weeks before sinking into obscurity so even though I want to be here I'm not a celebrity yet get me out of here!
