This is a continuation on the theme of a thread started by Master Cheif in the SSF forum a while back. After a bit of researching, I've found something which will aid in the fight against n00bishness. As I quote Mace Windu:

Leet Translator
Leet to English translator

Now if someone could integrate this into an eyepiece, then online gaming could return to being the civilized hobby it once was. Thank goodness people can only type leet, not speak it.

This reminds me of WoW, Horde and Alliance used to communicate with l33t speak until Blizzard stepped in and ended it.

Pity, it was the only legitimate reason for l33t to exist. Ever.

It's really not that hard to read. Annoying as hell, yes. But remember that the average "leet"-speaker has the IQ of a particularly dumb rock. It can't be all that complicated, or else the hordes of 12-year-old AOLers wouldn't be able to understand the recycled dreck they fling at each other while playing Counterstrike or whatever.

Wait, I take that back. It takes an awful lot of strategical know-how and intelligence to play Warcraft, Rome: Total War, or another real time strategy game. But that really doesn't apply to CS.

I don't suppose they've made the connection that in FPS games, standing still to type = death and tying in leet takes a heck of a lot longer...
