Informal Episode III poll

This is where you can discuss your homework, family, just about anything, make strange sounds and otherwise discuss things which are really not related to the Lancer-series. Yes that means you can discuss other games.

Informal Episode III poll

After seeing Episode III, it was difficult to decide which (of the following 2) characters was my favorite. This is not to say that I don't like other characters, I just want to gather opinions on who you think is cooler:

Yoda
R2-D2

After much thought.... i have to say R2D2. Between all the movies, especially ep3, R2 saves the main characters more times than anyone can count. Now that he gets his rocket engines and can take on battle droids with more gadgets than ever, he has topped my list. Yoda is a close competitior however... in ep3, in the final showdown with Palpatine, it was entertaining to see the little guy talk big, and drop the guards without even touching them. There's something scary about a midget with a lightsaber.

Yoda, totally. Perhaps if R2 was still played by a midget instead of being CGI...

I have to stay with Yoda, though R2 is resourceful, yoda was clearly ther better, and had he not slipped he had palpatine down.

well it was good to see Yoda live up to his reputation as Jedi Master, rather than just being old and wise. R2-D2? making him kick ass just didn't work for me. I much prefer him when he gets fried, the annoying little boiled egg on stilts. My fav R2 scene is when he gets shot during the battle of Yavin, the obnoxious little mechanical git.

but I dislike Ewoks more.

don't really like Ep1,2, & 3 at all.

R2D2 is the man lol. Yoda will always be one of my favs. but R2 rocked in ep3.

Blessed Be to all those that still dream of the flight to the stars.

So am I to understand that mister Towelkanananana identifies more with C-3PO?

Hmmmm... That would make sense, your Gay-o-Meter score was rather high, wasn't it?

I hate lazyfingers. Blah.

nice.

if anyone I''d say it was Count Dooku I identified with. Or the Emperor.

R2D2 was too souped up in EP3. He is an Astromech, not a war droid!

Yoda lives up to his history as a warrior and leader. Especially when the clones try to execute order 66 and he takes them down.

My favorite Yoda moment (besides the lightsaber battles, of course) was when he confronts Palpatine. The guards turn towards him and he just throws them down. Awesome. Though R2 is not a war droid, the new resourcefulness is fascinating. At some point I'd like to see someone build him with all the features...

Good grammar, yoda has not; appalling, it is.

Evil Anakin is the best. He has freed himself from all the petty restrictions imposed by society such as morals and honour in favour of a kill 'em all attitude that serves him well throughout the rest of his life.

Anyway the Jedi were asking for it. They accuse the Sith of dealing in absolutes when they themselves refuse to recognise the dark side or its use as legitimate. Remember that dark lord who had mastered the force to the extent of being able to heal people? Obviously an evil man

What is ironic is that Force Heal (in all its manifestations) is regarded by all SW games that I've played as a light side power. Seems even Lucas can't make up his mind.

Besides, the masters had it coming. They all get wasted by about four clone troopers. Anyone that pathetic should not be in a position of responsibility.

Good point.
"There is no this...There is not that"...those ARE absolutes. The Jedi basically don't tolerate any dissent from their POV, they see the world in Black and White.

Post Mon May 30, 2005 10:14 am

the jedi brought it on themselves, they expected the sith they where facing to be like the ones they faced near their founding, but instead the sith they faced in ep3 had changed. the jedi had not, and are now doomed.

Dealing in absolutes is different from practicing a search for truth; the Sith do the former, the Jedi the latter. If you read something like the Meditations or any other Stoic text, you basically understand exactly what Lucas is trying (perhaps failing?) to accomplish with the Jedi.

Dealing in absolutes is selfish by nature; it is the act of believing that you are right and only right, and all that oppose you are thereby enemies. Searching for truth is selfless.

Insult yoda's grammar, do not! or smite thee I will.

Even worse, his pronounciation is; his inflections, with the correct words, rarely are.

And don't even get me started on his face: when he fights he looks more like a constipated Golum

aren't the children who've just seen Ep 3 going to be somewhat disappointed when they watch original Star Wars *to see what happens next* and see non-digital muppet Yoda in TESB?

incidentally i prefer muppet Yoda. digital Yoda for all his moves means nothing to me.
