Any realtionship between to starlancer and Freelancer?

This is where you can discuss your homework, family, just about anything, make strange sounds and otherwise discuss things which are really not related to the Lancer-series. Yes that means you can discuss other games.

Freelancer is set about 100 years or so after Starlancer

i thought it was 800 years TG.

yeah TG you plum, 100 years after SL, the ships leave the solar system (BUT IT WAS NOT DESTROYED!!!!!!...IMPORTANT!) and the 800 years later, we catch up with what happened to the sleeper ships.

initally, digital anvil was going to explore the further adventures of the war from starlancer with sequels and add-on packs, but they suck the big one, and it never came.

oh i hated the loss of that storyline. after all, if the Solar Syatem isnt destroyed then the Coalition is still there, so why haven't they made the trip out to Siwius in 800 years? seeing as their jump technology was better than the Alliance's (vis Starlancer) After all, you do see Atticus Rockford's space podule flying towards (presumably) the landing site of the Liberty, even in the edited release version, so it can't have been all THAT far. I think they'd have bumped into each other sooner later would they not?

so pre-release version for me thx.

Guys, I still say that the Solar System was destroyed. When the Coalition was closing in on Pluito, which was the last Alliance base the final battle was about to get underway. Then a Nomad Battleship jumped in. (Hell I don't know, I've heard all kinds of theorys about it being the Nomads, the Dom Kavash or another race.) But regardless, they fired something into the sun that made it go KABOOM! Atticus Rockford was the only survivor because he was lucky and he was mostly shielded from the shockwave on the dark side of Pluito. He found a ship that could fly and went to Sirius to warn everyone that the aliens were coming, and that they needed to prepare for their first war with another species. Even in the edited version of the opening cenematics that made it into the final game show Atticus Rockford's ship flying toward the Liberty just after the first touchdown on Manhattan. If the Solar System hadn't been destroyed, then why would only one ship make the aproxamit 800 light year trip to Sirius? If there was more than one survivor then wouldn't there have been a whole fleet? But you all have the right to believe whatever you want to believe, I'm just expressing my opinion.
