Quick save vs. Quick load

This is where you can discuss your homework, family, just about anything, make strange sounds and otherwise discuss things which are really not related to the Lancer-series. Yes that means you can discuss other games.

Quick save vs. Quick load

So which is worse then, quick saving instead of quick loading or quick loading instead of quick saving, or does it change from game to game? I think both are equally soul-destroying.

Do you mean the difference between quick save and regular save? As save and Load are totaly different functions.

I like quick saves over the regular one, only because of speed it is done in.

No, as in accidentally quicksaving when you meant to quickload (i.e. pressing the wrong button) or quickloading when you meant to quicksave.

The sort of thing that makes a Splinter Cell player cry.

Quicksaving when you mean to load is worst. Theres so many times i've saved my game when i'm dead, or at a point where it's impossible to get through i.e. about to be killed. At least when you quickload when you mean to save you just have to play through a bit of the game.

saving instead of loading every time.
done it far too much on FPS's although, and i know you did, the classic non-defeatest attitude of trying to still do the mission with 2hp is a classic.

you furked up somewhere and aim for quickload, accidentally get quicksave and you're stuck now with 2 hp and a second after you quickload, you're dead again. so begins a good half hour of trying to salvage that save by memorizing where EVERYONE comes from for the rest of the level so you get the drop on them and manage to do it without being hit once. Then the next time you play the level you totally kick so much ass on it your mates think you're awesome.

come on! who hasnt tried to salvage that save game file instead of going back and starting the level again?

Its a shame now though, now they start off with F5 as quicksave and F8 as quickload...worlds apart from each other, you'd have to have a massive foam finger to accidentally mess up. Of course the old tactic of creating invinite quicksave slots, so you can always skip to the second to last quicksave, is another game favorite in an effort to destroy these awkward moments.

If I mess up and quick save, I will usually keep trying for a while to beat the level anyways. Of course, this is mixed in with several instances of walking away from the computer from frustration.

Quickload I will usually just leave the game and try later. Its usually "not worth the effort" at that point.
