No, as far as I can tell, the 'mothership' thingumibob they fly around in is called the "Star Wolf". Inspirational, eh?

In other news, I've upgraded my PC from a GeForce 2 to a Radeon 9250 (parting with that twenty quid was the hardest thing I ever did).

So, I went to put that X2-the threat disk(s) in, and lo- the box was gone! I was quite chuffed, as you can imagine.

i'm currenlty playing

F.E.A.R
Mechwarrior 4:Vengance/Black Knight
FL (of course)
CoD UO
HL (1&2)

Radeon 9250 ain't that bad, especially for 20 quid...if it runs F.E.A.R (and it does ok) it's good enough for me

I saw X3 reunion in Best Buy and it looks good, but is it? The web says it was buggy at first and then a patch came out to fix the problems. Can anyone tell me one way or the other?
What's the game play like?
Are the flight characteristics 'realistic'? ie. 3d, not 2d, planets in actual orbit, etc.
How does the free play stack up to FL?

You always find what you're looking for.

Ok im going to say this in big letters so u dont forget

FREESPACE 2

Never be afraid to try something new, Remember Amatuers built the Ark, Professionals built the Titanic

I haven't actually played X3 yet so I can't say for certain, but I haven't come across a good review yet. Apparently the controll scheme is horrendus. BTW Empire earth 2 is a fantastic game. A must own if you like RTS games. Not as pretty as AoE3 but you'll be so busy enjoying the gameplay you'll never notice.

BTW, if you are looking for an online MMorpg to make you forget about runescape try this site spacefed . I played runescape for a week and got bored. Adventurequest lasted about a month. I've been playing Galactic conquest for over a year now and it's still a blast. My username is Kusari. Be sure to say hello if you decide to join.

check this out, its still in development.

Infinity, quest for earth

Dwarf I don't have time to check out those games you posted about right now, but are Galactic Conquest and Unification Wars text-based? I cannot stand TB games. I play games to actually play them, not read them. Although I like to read, I don't like doing it in VIDEO games.

hah

you guys need to play terminal velocity its brilliant ha hah

joystick supported (shame about the graphics though)

Ther're not truly text based but if you're looking for a fully 3d world like runescape it's not that kind of game either.

ok in one of the other forum topics people were starting to dis EVE Online. So that I wouldn't totally hijack that thread ( and as this one is about other games).

EVE Online is one of the better MMO's out there. BUT the Evolutions mod for Freelancer has so much of the same content that I didn't see justifying the cost.
In it defence thou OTHER then it's jaw droping graphics, and huge and amazing soundtrack, I LOVE the UI in it. and the 3D starmap with the navagation interface was awsome. Mining was as fun as it is in Evolutions and the player comunity is extreamly friendly compared to many MMO's. The CS is amazing, and the Dev's made an amazing game to playin.
On the down side the "off-hand flying" didn't please me, targeting while simple could be difficult at times. once you were fireing on all targets it was just sit back and keep an eye on your sheilds and armor, that was a bit boring for me. The skill system while cool was pourposely flawed in that you could only train one caracter at a time, and you were allowed up to three caracters.

Some of the comments I have seen on other forums:
" travel takes forever" only in the begining, once you get better ships the speed of the ships improve.
" you have to pay to play" true it is a MMO.
" the player community is unfriendly" in my experence a majority were very friendly.
" the Dev's suck" they are better then many game devlopers out there.

all in all EVE Online is one of the better MMO's out there and there are on average around 16,000+ players online AT ALL TIMES. and while there is a bit of lag in the starter systems all the other 5,000 systems are lag free. the ships are a blast to play and once you destroy your first station your hooked lol. Despite tghe downsides it is defintly worth checking out, eve if just for the trial version. But it is very cheap to buy, I got mine for $7.

Blessed Be to all those that still dream of the flight to the stars.
