My dream invovling death

This is where you can discuss your homework, family, just about anything, make strange sounds and otherwise discuss things which are really not related to the Lancer-series. Yes that means you can discuss other games.

If you don't fear death, you must have nothing to live for...

Anyway, my dreams are far too abstract. They include (but aren't limited to):

Being chased (with others at first, but then I'm on my own) through a warped version of my home town by men in suits, being terrified and ever-fleeing, hiding in a toilet cubicle,

One involving a roundabout in my home town, Bart and Homer Simpson a big truck crashing and me stealing a horse (with the Simpsons), and then being halted by 13 naked, deformed standing corpses with the letters REFUSEPASSAGE carved on them,

And moving to a non-existent Wild-West style town in Australia called Virginia with a friend, starting a three-man pop group, being penniless and kicked out of our accommodation (a tavern), then calling in a restaurant (complete with WildWest-style flapping doors) for a drink and something to eat. What happened next, I've posted before:

When we got inside, we noticed it was long, far longer than it was wide, like a train. The seats were very odd, with metal bars sticking out at all angles, forcing people to sit facing away from the people next to them.

After a bit the train/bar/restaurant started to accelerate at very high speed, the other people apparently not noticing, and it became very hard to stay in my poorly designed seat. Everyone seemed to be shouting and some were swearing, but not in a violent kind of way. I stood up, and suddenly started shaking violently (I think I did it in rl, too). At that point, I realised it was a dream, but decided to stick atound for a bit just to see what would happen. However, everything faded away and there I was in my bed.

Of course, this is just the roughest outline of these dreams- they have complex plots and details I don't have time to describe here. Especially the first two.

I find the statement "If you don't fear death, you must have nothing to live for" offensive.

I have plenty to live for. My family and friends seems to be a pretty good reason to stay alive. Who are you to say that just because I don't fear death means that there is nothing worthwhile in my life?

Yes, it would be sad not being with them anymore, but that doesn't mean I have to fear dying.

Well then sylverfysh, Perhaphs your dream was more about your fears rather than just death! Dont worry about Corsair those type of statements kept him out of the Jedi Order! "Death...What do y'all know about death"

Death is certinaly not something that scares me. When it comes looking for me i'll be prepared for it.

I suggest you all watch Jacobs Ladder. It is one idea of what goes through someone's head (according to Eckhart) when you are dying. Interesting film that is more about accepting death rather than horror which is what the film is supposed to be.

Anyway, if you have anything remotely to lose, how you can not be afraid of losing it all, and hurtling into the unknown, perhaps never to see those you love again?

Death is part of the life cycle. When it comes, there is nothing you can do about. That is why i don't fear death.
