bigotry running rampant
I don't understand this: We live in 2005. A modern era, of freedom and equal rights. And Canada's wonderful neighbour to the south is quickly becoming a very bigoted, scary place.
Groups attacking "Spongebob Squarepants" and "Arthur" for "promoting homosexuality", gay bashings becoming even more common across the states, counties passing laws that can jail one for "homosexual behaviour"... What the f***ing crap!!!?!?!? Are we living in the 1800s? Can people still be put on treadmills for 6 hours a day, every day, for 2 years? Is it still alright for gay men to be mock-crucified to fences and then beaten to death?
How is it that racism, sexism, and anti semitism are all taboo, but homophobia isn't? Roughly 20% of the society is having their rights trampled on and spat at, and this is acceptable??
