Interesting Display Problem

Interesting Display Problem

I'm not able to fix this one problem I'm having. Its really annoying. My window size is not fixed. What I mean by this is that I can move my active window outside of the viewing area. It also will cover up my taskbar. I will post pics when I can...

Can anyone help?

Thats how you do it....

ANyway, that wasn't what I am talking about... The Start Button (that taskbar) is hidden by a full screen, and if the screen is not maxed, it can be moved completly off of the viewing area.... It should stop at the edges...

Update: Figured out the Taskbar part (right click on taskbar, properties, check keep the taskbar on top of other windows). Still don't know about the Windows off of the screen...

Did you run more than one display, because I did for a short time and I can drag windows over the screen out of the viewing area.

What exactly is the problem with the screen size, could it be resolved by changing the resolution? Check that then try reinstalling the graphics drivers. Reboot, reboot, reboot. Do anything that Esky says on this, seeing his "expertise".

mine does that to but since my video card supports multi-display through the ports on it i don't let it bother me to much as i'm thinking about tinkering with multi-display anyway

I remember this problem on the old Windows 95/98 systems. It's some kind of 'virtual desktop' or something -- I can't remember the exact name.

Try going into display properties and see if there's two slider bars under settings. Most likely desktop size is larger than the monitor size.
