I won't bore everyone with the story, but getting Christian to give us an off-topic forum (this was when this was primarily a Starlancer site and FL was a distant thought) took a whole lot of begging and pleading. He finally got tired of us finding "ways" to get off-topic in the discussion threads and use euphemisms to get around the topic but still have "some" of the topic in the post. It was a very creative time for us. Example: Exploding Birds were refered to as "rear-firing guns". Explosives, Alcohol, and practical jokes were refered to as "co-pilots". We kinda had our own language there for a while. Finally, Chris couldn't take it anymore so he gave us the off-topic forum. So, glasses held high for us "pioneers" of the off-topic forum! And a few rounds for the "co-pilots" and "rear-firing guns" as well!

True story, seriously!
