From a former teenager, key is staying involved in what they do. My parents were only half involved, and let me be the other half. Looking back, even though I liked the freedom, the lack of restraint, created problems for me. Choices I made, without their influence, would most of the time, be wrong, and I would have to live with the results.

A bit of humur from a comic strip went like this. A kid was being picked on because he had to be home at a certain time, the bully said he could do what he wanted, because his parents didn't care. That left th littler one to think about it. The kid went home and hugged his mother, and said"thanks for careing". It bit of truth in it.
